Job Matching, Placement and Incentives Program is an exciting opportunity for ontrac and you, the employer, to develop a stronger relationship and to work together to ensure you can find quality employees while reducing the costs associated with hiring and training new staff.

Job Matching Involves working with an employer to

assist with matching their employment needs with the skills and abilities of our client’s

The Job Developer provides support, guidance and assistance with this process

Job Placement Job Developer works with the client to match

their needs and abilities with work opportunities

Assists with the facilitation of work opportunities and negotiation of the employment relationship

This placement can include on-the-job training and a trial period of employment

Job Incentive Placement Incentives will vary based on

complexity of the job skill level required and length of training required

These incentives are provided to offset some of the employers’ costs for training participants

To encourage employers to provide on-the-job training placements and work experience to support participants in addressing gaps in their credibility, skills and experience

Youth Employment Fund (YEF)

In the 2013 Budget, the Ontario Government announced a new two-year $295M Youth Job Strategy, which was intended to create 30,000 new job opportunities for youth. The strategy is comprised of four initiatives

* Please note this program is coming to an end August 31, 2015. All new placements must start prior to March 31, 2015.

Youth Employment Fund Creation of employment opportunities to

provide 25,000 youth with a starting point to long-term employment

A work placement with an employer 4-6 months in duration

Training is linked to the placement and identified by the employer. The goal of the training is to provide incremental skills in the areas of communications, health and safety, business and technology. (maximum 8 weeks)

Program may be developed to include placement and training/incentive

Summer Jobs Service (SJS)

Provides employers with a $2.00 an hour wage incentive to hire summer students for up to 16 weeks (high school & post-secondary)

Program runs from April until early September

Students must be between 15-30 years of age

Participants must be current students that are planning to return to school in the fall

How much funding can I get? The Grant will fund, on average, 2/3 of a

worker’s eligible training costs, to a maximum of $10, 000

Eligible training costs include tuition and fees, textbooks and materials

You contribute the remaining costs, and employ the worker you train

Is any business eligible for funding? Individual businesses and business

organizations can apply Broader public sector organizations or

Canada-Ontario Job Grant service providers aren’t eligible

You can’t apply if you are already receiving government funding to train the same worker

Employer Eligibility for Programs

To be eligible to participate in any of the four programs, employers must meet the following: Be licensed to operate in Ontario Be compliant with legislation (Health &

Safety, Employment Standards, etc.) Maintain appropriate WSIB or private

workplace safety insurance coverage Have adequate third party general

liability insurance as advised by its insurance broker

Job Creation Program

Page 22: Employer Supports WORKING WITH OUR COMMUNITY ontrac Employment Resource Services.

The Ontario Job Creation Partnership program provides work experience to eligible unemployed job seekers through projects that benefit the community or local economy.

At the end of their participation, participants in the program will have recent work experience and additional skills to add to their resumes, increasing their chances of successfully finding long-term employment.

Eligible Recipients Businesses, non-profit organizations,

crown corporations, municipalities, First Nations councils, public health and educational institutions are eligible to provide work experience through this program

Ontario Job Creation Partnerships (JCP) is a program designed to provide participants with opportunities to gain meaningful work experience.

Projects may be from 12 weeks up to a maximum of 52 weeks. The average duration of a JCP is typically 26 to 31 weeks.

While projects funded under the program provide community benefit, the primary focus must be on the individual’s work experience.

At the end of a JCP contract, clients will have recent work experience to add to their resumes and a new network of contacts to increase their chances of finding long-term employment.
