WelcomeI am excited that you have decided to be a part of the Cedar Valley College family. I say family because although we are a part of the larger Dallas County Community College District, of the seven campuses, Cedar Valley is considered a campus with a strong sense of community and family. And so let me introduce you to some of our family members and our way of doing things that will hopefully get you better acclimated to your new family dynamics.

Patricia Davis – Chief Community and Resource Development Officer

The P DriveWe make every effort to communicate clearly and concisely and to stay organized. To this end we utilize the P Drive for our electronic files.• P Drive is where we store final documents, fiscal year reports, resources,

etc. • We have two P drives – Community & Resource Development and Grants

Management & Compliance• They are set up based on subjects and fiscal years• We have a standard naming and filing procedure• You will find most everything you need on this drive to give you a

historical and operational overview

Standard Operating ProceduresMany of our internal processes have been flowcharted and documented in what we call our SOP’s.

If you need help with something check the P drive to see if there is an SOP already created that will walk you through the process OR to use as a refresher after your initial training.

We want your feedback on our SOP’s too – a fresh look helps us in our continuous improvement process – we always update and refine.
