Welcome! It’s a Knock-out!Get ready for ‘It’s a Knock-out’! Full of giant inflatable’s, obstacles and props this is a hands-on opportunity to sample the classic TV gameshow first hand. Pre-defined teams have already entered and can expect to jostle and struggle their way through such challenges as ‘Last Man Standing’, ‘Pizza The Action’, ‘Run The Gauntlet’, ‘Down On The Farm’, ‘King Of The Rings’, ‘The Water Race’ and ‘The Great Escape’.

Welcome to the 2010 Finning family fun day at Weston Park and thank you to all of you who have travelled today from locations far and wide including Glasgow, Llantrisant, Slough, Halstead, Leeds, Chesterfield and others, to help make this day a very special one.

We’ve a fun packed day planned for you and your family and very much hope that you have a day to remember for all the right reasons of course!! This day represents a huge thank you to you from Finning for all your hard work and commitment through many difficult months.

With a fantastic ‘It’s a Knock-out’ competition at the heart of the day, where either as part of a team or as a spectator cheering the contenders on, we should have lots of laughs and plenty of fun.

There are also many activities for you to enjoy throughout the day as you wander around, ranging from a Finning employees Classic and Sports car display, to Leicester Tigers, to our very own Fin-Fest and many fun challenges along the way.

This programme will guide you through what to expect and where to find it with the help of a handy map in the centre pages. We will be onsite at the central information point to answer any questions during the day or can be reached on either 07725 240168 or 0791 2098396.

Spectators and supporters can cheer on the teams from the periphery of the arena, making sure to avoid straying into it! Our Fun Day presenter will provide a running commentary throughout the event.

Finning UK Classic & Sports Car Enthusiasts

Located in the centre of all the activities are our very own Finning UK Classic and Sports Car enthusiasts. A group of Finning employees who come together to display at ad hoc events rather than as a formal club, these enthusiasts will today be showing off their pride and joy for your enjoyment and shared interest. Included you will see a 1972 MGB, two 2-seater Tiger kit cars, one Triumph Spitfire, two Vauxhall Vectra Super Touring high performance cars and a MKII Ford Cortina.

We hope to have catered for every age group today! Adjacent to where we’ll be is the Weston Park Adventure playground and picnic area – you are very welcome to use these facilities during the day free of charge. For a small extra fee you can also use the Weston Park railway and visit Weston Park house where we have a special Finning entrance fee. You may wish to do this once the Family day has finished so that you maximise your time.

Whilst we do hope the day runs safely and smoothly, please refer to the site map as we have information points and a First Aid point on site as well as provision for Lost Children. Upon entry you will be issued with a wristband which identifies you as a Finning person or guest, allows you to redeem your food and is also the means by which you can leave your mobile number for any children you may be bringing in case they get separated from you.

Hot on the heels of the V Festival,

also recently held at Weston Park, we

bring you Fin-Fest – our very own mini

festival! Fin-Fest comprises 2 bands

– our own Parts department band,

Loungetree and The Random Band.

Fin-Fest

Loungetree Loungetree are a five-piece band who write and play their own original material. They were formed in early 2007 by Brett Littleton and Ivan Hickenbotham, and in early 2008 they were joined by Nigel Wright (drums) and Dave Messenger (bass). 2010 sees another new member joining the band in the form of Carl Weaver on keyboards.

The band hail from the Black Country, with a blend of rock, blues and grunge combined with intelligent lyrics. They have been entertaining audiences at festivals and venues across the region, including Lichfield

Festival, Worcester Festival and Wizzafest, as well as playing numerous pubs, clubs and charity events across the Midlands and further afield.

Their first full-length album, ‘Seasons’, was recorded at Univibe Studios in Walsall and released in September 2009 on CD and as digital download in January 2010. It is now available on iTunes, Amazon and other retailers.

The Random BandThe Random Band is a family of musicians and music lovers who break the boundaries between audience and band bringing about a shared musical experience for all: musicianship, friendship and entertainment.
