It can be many things - • Formal work placement • work experience • industrial experience • professional experience But these all contribute to your employability.

The placement year

Placement undertaken in year 3, usually for a minimum of 30 weeks Option to take several short placements, or additional placements throughout your study You apply the knowledge and skills gained in your first two years Final year work will benefit from your experience Placements enhance your employment opportunities on graduation Responsive to industry needs Dedicated teams of professional staff to support you throughout

It’s competitive out there

• Securing a placement and employment after university will be easier with a range of experience and a strong CV.

• You can develop your global talent with a number of opportunities as part of your course, and opportunity for work, study or extra-curricular activities here or abroad

Study a semester abroad at a university that has been specially selected by BU

Undertake a work placement abroad as part of your placement year, placement option or elective (FHSS)

Other international activities that are not part of your course but will help you to develop global skills within your chosen field. Do them early!

Interacting and listening to other students from the Chinese universities was am added advantage to my global mind and heart set. Experiencing the culture, different sights, food and hospitality in Chengdu, Beijing and Hong Kong was amazing. How much does it cost?

Maintenance Loans are available whilst you are on a paid or unpaid placement are non-means tested.

The tuition fee for 2019/20 entry is subject to confirmation in response to changes in government policy.

How much does it cost?

EU fund for studying abroad over 3 months and work placements over 2 months in partner EU countries Erasmus+ will give up to €400 per month dependent on the country you choose

May not cover all costs but goes someway to help with costs

We do not know what implications Brexit will have on it, but there will still be funding next year for sure
