Loudness and audio normalisation is a task which, when addressed using conventional means, is long and laborious; conversion of file to baseband signal, adjustment of levels in real-time with subsequent conversion back to a file.

Emotion Systems have addressed this real-world problem with eFF, the first of a line of applications based on the powerful and flexible Emotion Systems file-based processing Platform.

eFF opens up wrappers, codecs and files including MXF, DPP, AVC-I, analyses the audio in them, adjusts levels and ensures compliance with a wide range of selectable standards at speeds faster than real-time. What’s more, this process can even be automated for maximum efficiency.

Numerous standards exist, each with their own

nuance and levels requirements. eFF is currently

available with support of a wide range of standards

with more to be added in the future with ongoing

software support.

Workflows

eFF has been designed to work in a number of different ways, depending on your requirements. Manually –

drop a file into eFF and manually control its functions. Automatic – select a group of files to be made compliant

and drop them into a watch folder to let eFF automatically analyse, report and measure each one in turn.

Integrated – integrate eFF into your MAM workflow, using comprehensive API, and offer eFF as SaaS, to

ensure loudness compliance in all that you do.

eff Options

True Peak

True Peak audio normalisation using the Dynamic Normalisation Algorithm (DNA) is now available as an option

within eFF. This allows the system to identify and correct true signal peaks.

Emotion Systems are proud to announce that

*Dolby E™ is now supported within eFF. This

means that eFF now has ability to open

*Dolby E™ encoded content to ensure that it is

loudness compliant.

eFF has been carefully developed using the

Emotions Systems Platform and is available with

its own comprehensive API. This means that

it can be fully integrated into a comprehensive

workflow using the API.

eFF now offers *Dialogue Intelligence™ speech-gating technology to focus analysis of content on the areas of a program which contain dialogue.
