Lymington & The Solent EMG runs most of its water based events on the Solent out of the beautiful Georgian town, Lymington, which is easily accessible by road and rail. Nestled inbetween the stunning New Forest and the sheltered waters of the Solent, Lymington is a unique location in the British Isles.

The Solent is stretch of water that lies between the mainland and the Isle of Wight. Sheltered by ‘The Island’ The Solent is protected from much of the harsh weather that the UK sees, making it a superb location for water based corporate events.

Water based events can also be run out of Southampton if required.

By Road, 1 hour 45 minutes An easy drive down the M3 and M27 or the country route - A3, A31 and M27.

A Typical Day Obviously, we ensure that no day spent with EMG is just ‘typical’ but here is a taster of what our guests experience:

MorningGuests are escorted to their vessel and presented with a glass of champagne while they sit down over breakfast for a briefing.

With the introductions over the yachts will then head out to the Solent to take in the sights and

spectate the racing. Drinks will be served throughout the morning by a dedicated host or hostess.

Lunch The yacht will moor at Yarmouth, where guests will be escorted to the very special George Hotel for a three course lunch with spectacular views of the water. There is also the option of lunch onboard if preferred.

Afternoon Guests have the option of soaking up the atmosphere in Cowes or heading straight back to the water for an afternoon of cruising or sailing.

Weymouth & Portland Weymouth and the Portland National Sailing Academy have seen massive regeneration for the Olympic Games, meaning that the on land facilities are vastly improved. There is no seated ticketing for the sailing (standing only) so why not charter

your own powerboat to spectate?

Westward Cup The Westward Cup was brought to life in 2010 as commemoration of the racing schooner, Westward’s 100th anniversary. Following the success of the inaugral event in 2010, the Westward Cup will once again be visiting the shores of the South Coast in June 2012. Eight stunning Big Class Yachts have been invited to race, including the pictured yacht, Mariette, creating a spectacular sight on the Solent.

EMG are able to offer full day hospitality packages at this unique event, incorporating the finest food and drink, with a gourmet lunch eith onboard or ashore at one of many delightful waterside restaurants on the Isle of Wight. Round The Island Race The annual J.P. Morgan Asset Management Round the Island Race is a one-day yacht race around the Isle of Wight. The race regularly attracts over 1,700 boats and around 16,000 sailors, making it one of the largests yacht races in the world and the fourth largest participation sporting event in the UK after the London Marathon and the Great North and South Runs.

Panerai British Classic Week One of the most stunning regattas on the water! 2011 saw over 70 yachts entered and the addition of an exciting new event village and 2012 promises to be even bigger.

During an EMG hospitality day, guests will have the opportunity to view these beautiful and often eccentric yachts battling it out on the water from the comfort of your own luxury powerboat or sailing yacht. Throughout the day the finest food and drinks will be served from an attentive crew, with gourmet lunch served either onboard or at a waterside restaurant. On return to shore take in the Cowes carnival feel throughout the evening at some of the many great restaurants and bars on the Isle of Wight.

J Class Regatta Js represent the most demanding yachts in the world - “no other class requires a crew of 30 plus experienced sailors to manage more than 10,000 square feet of sail driving a 200 ton hull at 16 knots around the course.”

Summer 2012 will see a collection of these imposing yachts coming together on UK waters - this will be the first time in history that more than three Js will have raced together in the Solent.

EMG are offering a unique opportunity to see these stunning yachts in flight on the Solent during a VIP hospitality day. Guests will spectate the racing, with commentary from an experienced skipper, from their own luxury powerboat, while a dedicated crew serve the finest food and drink.

Superyacht Cup The Superyacht Cup Cowes, is a special edition of the regatta (normally held only in Palma) in celebration of the Olympics.

A hospitality day with EMG, the official hospitality provider, is the opportunity to see a collection of the world’s largest and most luxurious yachts battling it out on the water. Guests will first be taken out on the water on their own luxury sailing yacht to experience the sailing for themselves, they will then be transferred to a high-speed motoryacht which will give them closer access to the racing.

Cowes 2012

Olympic Sailing The London 2012 Olympics will see 10 exhiliarating sailing events and 380 athletes come to Weymouth Bay and Portland Harbour. The 10 events (six for men and four for women) will feature a variety of craft from dinghies and keelboats to windsurfing boats - not the mention the Finn as sailed by Ben Ainslie. Great Britain was the most successful nation in the Sailing competitions at Sydney (2000), Athens (2004) and Beijing (2008) so 2012 looks to be an especially exciting year with Great Britain hosting the event.
