ERM ACTION PLAN
Initially, the ERM team was planning an intervention to help people who lost their homes through Cash for Shelter activity. The coordination meetings have taught us that ANDMA will take the lead about this issue and plan to do an intervention. Considering this new information, the previous plan was canceled but we will continue to monitor the situation closely.
II. GENERAL DATA
GENERAL DATA COLLECTION METHODOLOGY: The general data reported below have been collected during a rapid assessment carried out in above mentioned villages in Sorubi district on the 18.09.2013 by ERM SI team. Data were gathered through a focus group discussion with key informants (CDC members, mullah, elders…) and a direct field observation.

D. SECURITY CONTEXT
Villages located south of the river near the district center are considered as safe (less than 5 km from this latter).
Villages on the other side of the dam in the north are considered as dangerous due to the presence of some AOG. For the moment, this area is considered as a no-go area for SI.
E. ASSESSMENT CONTEXT
After the incident, most of the needs were covered by the presence of many NGOs. This depth assessment was conducted one month and half after as many gaps were reported regarding the WASH component.

Regarding the practice of open defection, most of the people are going in the lands.
Sometimes, they go in the existing flood ways.
The communities have a pit beside their latrines and put inside the wastes and excreta. They cover it by ashes and natural soil to compost. When the material becomes dry, they will use as fertilizer for their agricultural lands.
There is no management of sewage. Used water flowing out directly from the bathrooms or kitchens to the yard or the streets.
There is no management of waste and no special disposals exist. All waste included non-perishable are thrown on outside of the houses in open areas.
