INTRODUCTION Emergency operation center is very

important in order to handle a sudden emergency

There are so many unexpected and sudden events take place in the universities and in absence of a well developed EOC it is really very difficult to tackle the situation

EMERGENCY OPERATION CENTER

(EOC) The purpose of EOC is to help out

the students in university in case of following emergency situations

Earthquake Fire Terrorist attack

Cooling or heating loss Emergencies due to hazardous

materials Environmental health and safety Food safety Death of any student Protest by students

IMPORTANCE OF EOC Its presence is very essential as the

following points elaborate its importance:

Prevention: It means to provide security to the students against any terrorist attack or any other criminal act.

Mitigation: The term mitigation refers to elimination of life loss as well as property loss by controlling the emergency incidents within the university premises.

Response: Emergency system is very quick in responding in case if any unusual incident happens in the university.

Protection: The term protection in EOC means to secure students, teachers, workers as well as visitors from the natural or any man-made disaster in the university.

Recovery: Emergency center management also ensures the recovery in case of any disaster in the building.

EOC PLAN FOR UNIVERSITY OF

departments will be included in the collaborative team with EOC in order to manage the procedures and develop plans for the emergency situations.

BUDGET OF UNIVERSITY ON EOC

The university does not need to invest so much financial resources on the EOC. There is just need to mange an emergency operations center office in the university premises and its collaboration with the departments. There is only need to monitor and develop plans for the emergency situations.

CONCLUSION In conclusion, EOC should be

present in educational institutes in order to provide health and life surety to the teachers, workers and the students as well as visitors. EOC just needs an initial investment and collaboration with other departments so that managing team can monitor the working of those departments on regular basis in order to ensure safety.
