Meet the new Assistant DS

With the new District Su-

perintendent comes a new

assistant DS. His name is

Dr. Mike Kitsko. Mike was

born and raised in Compton, California, but

spent part of his childhood in Quito, Ecuadorwhere his parents were missionaries. He

aended Point Loma Nazarene University,

where he sang in the choir. He has earned a

Masters and Doctorate from Nazarene Theolog-

ical seminary. He is currently working on his

dissertaon for a PhD at MSU. Dr. Kitsko has

served as a Senior Pastor in Southern California

and then has spent the last 11 years on sta at

Flint Central Church of the Nazarene.

Dr. Mike was saved at the age of 3 at the foot of

his parents bed. He was sanced while a sen-

ior in high school and called to ministry while in

college. He keeps his rst district and local li-

cense on the wall in his oce.

Dr. Mike met his wife Julie on eHarmony.com

and Dr. Glen Gardner was a groomsman at their

wedding. Mike and Julie have two children; Jack

whos 5, and Ella who is almost 4.

Mike described himself as quiet by nature, and

Dr. Glen interjected by saying but when he

speaks, its big. When I asked him the queson

what is the one thing he most wants the EMD

to know he replied.

I am excited about the future and would love

their prayers!

SERMON NOTESSunday (Manley) ~ Matthew 11:11 Jesus is validatingJohn the Baptist. He compares and contrasts the humanrace with the Kingdom of Heaven. On the human raceside is the greatest named John the Baptist. On theKingdom of Heaven side is the least whose name isHe. John the Baptist and the human race are in thetone of the old testament, there is a hierarchy, greatestto least. It is about performance. Those who performwell are at the top looking down at those who performless well. John was the greatest and performed the bestof them all. The Kingdom of Heaven is not a location it isa relationship. Everybody (He) is least in the kingdom ofheaven. The way into the Kingdom has nothing to dowith performance. It is about an invasion, an infusion ofJesus Christ into us resulting in radical nature changemaking us partakers of the divine nature.Which makes us the Kingdom of Heaven.
