Show. The District 9 Food Show is open to all Junior, Intermediate and Senior participants who competed at the

County Show this year and will be held on May 3, 2019 at the

Lone Star College in The Woodlands, Texas.

Walker County 4-H Photography Contest Entries Due….March 13, 2019…..4pm-7pm…….Walker County Fairgrounds

Photos to be entered in the Walker County 4-H Photography Contest will be turned in at the same time as entries for the Walker County Fair Photography contest again this year. Please contact the Extension Office for contest rules, information on categories and picture mounting requirements for the 4-H Contest. A 4-H member can enter as many categories as they please for $1/photo. If you would like to enter the SAME PHOTO in the 4-H contest as well as the Fair Contest, then please follow the rules for mounting provided by the fair. There's no need to print and mount your pictures twice. If you enter the fair contest, your 4-H fee is also waived. If you have any questions please contact Kristy at 936-435-2426.

Don't forget to sign up for parent work hours by going to the http://www.walkercountyfair.com website and clicking on the "Get Involved" tab and "Parent Work Hours." You MUST have your child's Exhibitor ID# in order to register. If you do not have the number or have forgotten or misplaced it, please send an email to walkercountyfair@gmail.com requesting the information. Remember each exhibitor must have a parent or guardian work a 2 hour shift during the fair.

Walker County 4-H Project Record FormsTo be eligible to show at the Walker County Fair, all 4-H members must turn in a Project Record Form. These are due to the Walker County Extension Office by 5:00 pm Friday, March 8th. REMEMBER: All 4-H exhibitors must attend at least 3 meetings to be eligible to show at the Walker County Fair. Those failing to attend 3 meetings will be required to write a research paper. A minimum of 5 pages per missed meeting will be required. The topic of the research paper will be assigned at time of the request. My suggestion is to attend your project club meetings. Note: Project Record Forms will not be required for 4-H members completing a formal 4-H Record Book that is due at the Extension Office on June 14, 2019. Please stop by the Extension Office and sign a Project form waiver if you choose to do a formal 4-H Record Book.Sewing Projects, Calf Scramble, and Commercial Heifer exhibitors are also exempt from the Project Record Form Requirement, because of other books/forms they fill out for fair participation.

Fair on Monday, March 25th, 2019 in the Main Building of the Fairgrounds. Contests include

Food Challenge, Duds to Dazzle, Ag Product ID, CDM, Educational Presentation, Share the Fun, and Wildlife Challenge!!
