Game NotesLast Time Out: In the final game of their weekend road trip, the Soaring Eagles dropped a 5-0 contest to DeSales University on Sunday. EC wrapped-up their season-opening three-game road trip with an 0-3 record, the other losses com-ing to No. 18 Cortland State and Delaware Valley College.

A Career First: EC’s lone goal against Delaware Valley Col-lege was scored by one of the Purple and Gold’s several new-comers, Alyssa Mariano ’18. Mariano scored early on in the second half of play after fighting through a crowd of people in front of the cage and finishing her shot past the goalie.

Goalie Split: Both Mikayla Rebusmen ’17 and Julie Hock-enberger ’18 have split time in goal evenly through EC’s first three games, each playing 105 minutes. Rebusmen started at both Cortland and Delaware Valley, and totaled 29 saves in all. Hockenberger came in for relief duty against the Red Dragons last week, but started against DeSales, making a combined 30 saves in her time in goal.

Looking Ahead: The Soaring Eagles will return to action on Saturday, September 13th when EC travels to Washing-ton & Jefferson College for a 1:00 p.m. game. The game against the Presidents marks Elmira’s first Empire 8 Con-ference game of the season.

Game NotesLast Time Out: The Crusaders of Susquehanna University come into today’s game fresh off a difficult 4-3 loss to Dick-inson College on September 6th. Susquehanna opened the game with two goals in the first eight minutes of play, but saw Dickinson tie the score at two just minutes before half-time. Susquehanna retook the lead, 3-2, nearly nine min-utes into the second half, but the Devils rallied, scoring two goals in the final 17 minutes of the game to come away with the 4-3 win.

Dynamic Duo: The Crusaders have scored 11 goals this season, eight of them coming from the sticks of Emily No-vakovich ’17 and Katherine Millett ’16. The two have each scored four goals on the season and have also tallied a com-bined three assists, two for Novakovich and one for Millett. The tandem was in full force against Dickinson on Satur-day, as only Millett and Novakovich were involved with the scoring plays. Millett scored two goals and assisted on the other, while Novakovich scored the third goal and assisted on Millett’s first goal.

Series History: Elmira has not had much success against Susquehanna University in the past, losing all four of the previous contests. Last year’s 5-1 Susquehanna victory marked the first meeting between the Soaring Eagles and the Crusaders since 2010.
