GOT NAME TAG? ECC Does…noun: a piece of paper,

cloth, plastic, or metal that has a person's name written on it and that is attached to the person's clothing. ECC loves new faces and with new faces are new names. Please assist with wearing a name tag to help put a name to a face. Fall into a pattern this October with wearing yours. Need one? Contact the church office by email, phone or request form found in the Narthex. Wearing a name tag is greatly appreciated!

PRAYER CONCERNS - During The Gathering of the Community, please clearly PRINT a Prayer Request Form that can be found in the pew rack. When the Deacon on Duty comes around with the microphone you are encouraged to state your prayer concern aloud. Give the completed form to the Deacon or drop it in one of the Prayer Concerns Baskets at the front or back of the church as you exit and this will be used to provide information to the church secretary for our Prayer List.

Admire – Respect – Enjoy! Let us all help ECC sparkle. If you

see something that is in need of repair, cleaning, moved, replaced, painting, etc., please stop by, call or email the church office with the information so a Clean/Maintenance Request Form can be completed and submitted to the Board of Trustees for review. Thank you!

LOST & FOUND is overflowing and located in the Social Room

coat area. Items of the delicate nature i.e., glasses, jewelry, etc., can be claimed in the Church Office during office hours. Please take a look.

Fragrance Sensitivity - For many people being exposed to

perfumes, colognes and chemicals can pose a serious health risk. Please be considerate of your neighbor and think before you apply. Thank you!

Prayer Shawl Ministry - We welcome you to the next meeting of

the Prayer Shawl Ministry on Thursday, October 25, 2018 at 9:30 a.m. in the social room.

Prayer shawls, lap robes for both men and women, as well as pocket prayers, are available in the room off of the Narthex. Please help yourself at any time. ~Jan Starkweather

Fall Leaf Raking is one of TELOS’ biggest fundraisers. This year

we are scheduling our leaf raking on Sat., Nov. 10th, Sun., Nov. 11th, and Sat., Nov. 17th. To reserve your space please email Pastor Amie [email protected] And this, of course, is one of those times when EVERY HAND is HELPFUL. We’d welcome additional adults to help lead teams; pick-up trucks or mini-vans to help haul equipment or people; and leaf blowers…. LOTS of leaf blowers. Let us know if you can help. And THANKS!!!!

BRRRRRRRR – it’s cold outside…During the months of

September and October Women’s Fellowship will be collecting new thermal type winter gloves for the Lakota Indians. The winters there are very harsh with temperatures reaching -40 degrees. Adult and children’s sizes are needed. A truck will be leaving for the reservation in early November, so winter gloves need to be in by October 28th. Please no knitted or crocheted mittens as the winters are too cold. Gloves may be put into the same collection container as the coats are placed in the Narthex. We continue to collect new or gently used winter jackets as well. Many thanks for your generosity! Jan Danforth

Calling all crafters and vendors! ECC will be hosting a craft fair

during Ellington’s Winterfest on Saturday, December 1st from 10am to 3pm. The cost for a six-foot space is $25 and all proceeds will be donated back to the church. Crafters and Vendors are responsible for providing their own six-foot table. Chairs will be provided. To inquire about an application please email Alexis Leonard at [email protected] or call 860-803-0203. Please make sure to provide your name, what you sell and any further questions! Deadline is November 1st, but we are filling up fast! This was extremely popular last year and we have more surprises in-store for this year!

Musically - December is right around the corner: This is your year to sing! The Senior Choir is extending an invitation to everyone who would like to sing for the Christmas Cantata to join in rehearsals 7:00-7:30 p.m. We are in-need of sopranos, altos, tenors and basses. There are now 7 Thursday rehearsals and 1 Saturday rehearsal on December 8th. The cantata is titled The Glory of Christmas. This Christmas Musical is composed by Lloyd Larson and will be presented to the congregation on Sunday, December 9th. Join us! Questions? Speak with any choir member or Esther Pezzella.

SPECIAL REQUEST - CALLING ALL GENTLY USED

HALLOWEEN COSTUMES, DO WE HAVE A USE FOR YOU?

YES – CORNERSTONE CLOTHING BANK!

Have you ever wondered what to do with all the costumes that have accumulated through the years? Cornerstone has a need for gently used costumes with or without all the attachments for their clothing bank.

The Board of Missions will have a bin in the Narthex for drop-off on October 7th; 14th & 21st - just in-time for this years’ little trick-or-treaters.

We THANK YOU for this last minute special request! But we know we are helping you clean out your closets.

SAVE THE DATE - Saturday, March 23, 2019! Remember

the wonderful and special event that was An Evening in Vienna? A second event is being planned which will bring the special foods and music of Germany to ECC. Watch for more details and don't miss out on this fabulous array of food and entertainment led by Chef Roland Schneider.
