It is truly my pleasure to be your new Administrator. Every day I look forward to seeing the smiling faces of our residents. I love the excitement of watching our com-munity grow. I am thrilled to live our mission statement - creating environments where moments of joy, independence and wellness are the focus of each and every day.
I couldn’t do this without the sup-port of our staff so I’m thankful for a TEAM who shares my same desires – helping seniors get the best qual-ity of life. DEB, our Activities Di-rector, does an excellent job of finding activities to help fill your days, BILL – our “MAGIC mainte-nance man” gets it ALL done and then some, DANIELLE – our Di-etary Services Manager and ALL her staff who continuously pro-vide service & good food choices every day. Please reward ALL our Staff for their EXCELLENT service with a BRENTWOOD BUCK that you
may get for FREE at the Front Office.
WELCOME our new housekeeper, MIKIEA, who is doing a great job of getting our apartments back in TIP TOP shape. We also wel-come SAVANNAH as our Business Office Manager. She is fun and fabulous and both of these ladies make a GREAT addition to our team. Make sure you say Hi. We are also thankful for our wonderful Concierg-es Evelyn & Brenda, and we are still looking for just the right people to help staff the Front Desk 24/7.

married 50 years. After Esther lost her husband she moved to
Elkhart and eventually to Brentwood. Esther loves Brentwood, she
enjoys the food and the residents and especially the entertainment.

RESIDENT OF THE MONTH
EMPLOYEE OF THE MONTHBill K.Bill was born and raised in
Plymouth and moved to
Elkhart about 5 years ago.
Bill worked in the RV busi-
ness for many years before
moving into the construction
field and then coming to
Brentwood. His areas of
experience make him a very handy guy to have around.
Bill has 2 daughters and 2 sons and 1 grandbaby with one on
the way. Bill lives in Michigan but is close enough to our
building that he can and has run in many times to “trouble
shoot” any problems. Bill is an animal lover with 3 dogs at
home and when Bill is not busy helping us he loves to “fix”
things! Congrats Bill on being Employee of the Month!
AUGUST 21 IS
National Senior Citizens DayA day to honor and show appreciation to our seniors. You can show your support by spending time with elderly family members or friends, or volunteering at a local retirement or assisted living center!
A Juicy, Fun Way to Take Your Vitamins Watermelon is a fun, nutritious way to make sure you don’t get dehydrated: it consists of 92% water!A two-cup serving of watermelon is an excellent source of vitamins A, B6 and C, and it provides 7% of the recommended daily value of potassium, with only 80 calories.
Watermelon is fat-free and also contains fiber. Its beautiful red color comes from all-natural lycopene, an antioxidant that can help keep bodies healthy.
Watermelon can be eaten at any meal and its wonderful snack. Delicious on its own, watermelon is a fantastic ingredient in recipes too! Previously just a summertime treat, tasty watermelon is now available year-round.
