Employee Appreciation Event!
To the Leadership and Staff of Masonic Villages Elizabethtown PA, I want to thank you for your amazing proactive and compassionate handling of the COVID-19 crisis. My parents have lived at the village for more than five years, and they have been very happy and very involved in the numerous activities and opportunities provided. They have raved about the service, from housekeeping to groundskeeping, to all things on campus. When the COVID-19 crisis swept the country, you can imagine my concern for my 80-year-old parents living on a campus with many other elderly residents, and with a host of employees entering and exiting the campus. I am in regular contact with my parents. They have shared the policies that you have put in place to protect your residents and your work force, from controlling access to consistent meal service. I am not only impressed, but in awe of the creativity, compassion and clear leadership applied when designing and implementing policies. They have shared that you have ensured that all of your work force have the opportunity not only to remain employed, but to be fed. Your implementation of food preparation and delivery clearly shows your concern for the health and welfare of residents and staff alike. My parents have described the many meals that have been delivered, and I am at a loss as to how to describe your food preparation except to say that I am in awe of and impressed by your kitchen staff for your menu choices, preparation, and presentation. When my mother shares the menu that arrived for the day, I can only compare it to a 5-star restaurant menu. And the meals are consistently exceptional! Even when preparing such outstanding menus you have taken the time to consider the dietary needs and likes and dislikes of the residents-no easy task! By controlling entry to the campus, you have controlled entry of the virus and made it clear to all how seriously care must be taken to protect the health of everyone. My parents consistently praise the friendliness, workmanship and attention to detail of your staff. Again, I am simply in awe of the clear thinking, the leadership and the compassion you have brought to the situation. I am also impressed by the numerous activities that are broadcast locally on campus for residents and continued activities provided that care of their physical and emotional wellbeing. By this time in the crisis, the words unprecedented and appreciated have become nearly cliche. At the risk of sounding cliche-because I cannot find other words-let me say that while the COVID-19 crisis is unprecedented in our lifetime, your response to it is also unprecedented, in your community, in your state and across the country. I am simply in awe of your compassion when designing and implementing your policies. I so appreciate your leadership and clear thinking. I hope that you are sharing your guidance with the larger community because what you have achieved at the Masonic Villages should be a model for all communities across the country.
Thank you,
Jill Jordan

CANCELLED
Autumn Day 2020 is cancelled. Originally scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 26, this annual open house for Pennsylvania Masons, their families and friends would potentially bring over 6,000 people to our campus. While we know this is a popular event, we do not want to chance inviting thousands of visitors onto our campus and risk exposing our residents and staff to the virus. We have taken exceptional precautions for the past several months to safeguard our residents, and we must continue to be vigilant in the fight against COVID-19. Thank you for understanding.
