In addition to the standard red/ green/ blue sub-pixel components, the Elite televisions add a yellow sub-pixel. Yellow was specifically chosen by our engineers because it enables higher brightness with less power and expands the color gamut to express vivid intermediate colors. The addition of the yellow sub-pixel enables the reproduction of many colors which flat-panel displays were previously unable to accurately depict. Viewers will notice the RGB+Y difference particularly in scenes with vivid yellows and golds, but there are other colors, such as an accurate “sea blue”, which also become possible to display.

Precision Color Plus
Since display images are made up of dots, finer details can be displayed with smaller and more dots.
Since the Elite televisions are using the unique RGB+Y pixel structure, with four sub-pixels as opposed to the usual three, the Elite LCD panel actually has smaller dots compared to conventional RGB panels by ¾, and thus enables processing images with higher resolution.
With Precision Color Plus, each sub-pixel can be addressed independently, creating more than 8 million dots on the screen.
Additionally, the increase in the number of addressable dots means that diagonal lines on the screen can be created using more individual “steps”. The result for the viewer is that there are less zigzags that occurs in the diagonal lines, for a smoother, more appealing image.
Finally, newly developed compensation technology enables smoother color transitions, as there are now color steps within each pixel as opposed to from pixel-to-pixel.

FluidMotion
FluidMotion: combines an advanced 120Hz system with Elite’s unique scanning backlight technology to create a 240Hz effect which improves picture clarity and smoothness in movies and sports content.
First, the backlight scans down the display in four parts. Then, instead of “holding” the image for an extended period, which would be perceived as motion blur to our eyes, FluidMotion uses frame compensation to minimize the hold time.

Performing Software Upgrade
1. Unplug the AC cord 2. Insert the USB Memory Device
with the Main Software Upgrade into the side terminal
3. Plug in the AC cord while holding down power button on the unit for ~5 seconds
4. After the unit powers up a screen will be displayed showing the upgrade progress as in Figure 1
5. Once the upgrade is complete the screen will display an “UPGRADE SUCCESS” message as in Figure 2

Troubleshooting L.E.D Backlight Failure
If the Power L.E.D is displaying Lamp Errors, try the following troubleshooting methods.
Force the set on by pressing Ch Vol while plugging in ac power cord.
If the set turns on, look for backlight illumination.
If set does not turn on, Remove L.E.D drive cables 1 at a time and re-try force-on procedure. If unit turns on the LED backlight is most likely at fault.
