Following their triumphant Beethoven Project, and as their three-year stint as Associate Artists nears its end, the Elias Quartet present their Schumann Series exclusively for Turner Sims audiences.The first concert in the series is on Tuesday 17 February.

Following his year-long immersion in song in 1840 and orchestral music in 1841 Robert Schumann spent 1842 focussing almost exclusively on chamber music, producing three string quartets, a piano quartet and a piano quintet.

AcrossAcross three concerts, each with a fascinating pre-concert talk specially created for Turner Sims, the Elias focus on Schumann's three quartets - comparitive rarities in chamber music programmes - offering an ideal opportunity to re-evaluate these important works in the composer's canon.
