….was a smart phone who was maybe too smart for her own good.

…….An opportunity presented itself…..

ONE DAY….

…..THE OPPORTUNITY…

Elgie saw the light…

SUDDENLY…..

She was on the floor and out the door.

BEFORE SHE KNEW IT……

She was free

ELGIE WENT AS FAST AS SHE COULD

AND HEADING FOR ADVENTURE

THE WORLD WAS EXCITING

In a concrete kind of way

AND THEN, WITHOUT REALIZING IT…

She was inside.

Something told her to head to the light

SHE WENT FOR A LONG, LONG TIME

There was a lot of light.

AND WITNESSED MANY ODD THINGS

ONE AFTER THE OTHER

Occasionally

A fuzziness occurred

THEN SHE MET……

Much less sophisticated, but also wiser. It was clear that he had seen his share of action---used often and put away hard.

HE WAS OLDER, OBVIOUSLY

“You have to go back,” he said.“The world is dangerous, and your battery won’t last forever.”“Go now before you end up like me—cracked screen and an l and r key that no longer work. I can barely call Detroit now.”

Now I sit here, roaming no more, searching for a signal to follow home.

ELGIE HEARD AND KNEW THE TRUTH

Elgie was lost……

….a babe in the woods…..

……on the carpet, as it were,

with no direction home

BUT THE TRUTH WOULD NOT HELP

SHE NEEDED DIRECTION

“Do you know the way out?” Elgie asked the first person she saw.

“I am busy getting tea,” it said. “I have no time for you.”

ELGIE WANDERED UNTIL…..

“Can you help me out?” she asked.

“Why, yes, the egg said. “Which way did you come in?”

SHE HOPED AND HOPED

“I do not know,” Elgie said.

“Well, it is a good thing you found us then,” the egg said.

“You will help me?”

“We will write out directions for you. It is a good thing we brought our pencil.”

AND TOOK THE DIRECTIONS

Elgie called and waited in the garden

Elgie was picked up and promised to never get lost again. Which made everyone extremely happy because lost smart phones are a real pain.
