ELECTROCARDIOGRAPH

INTRODUCTION• Electrocardiograph is a device that records the

electrical activity of the heart which will produce the result in the graphic form which called electrocardiogram (ECG).

• Electrical waves cause the heart muscle to pump.

• These waves pass through the body and can be measured at electrodes attached to the skin.

MEDICAL APPLICATIONThe ECG is useful for three basic parameters of

clinically interest;

• check the rhythm and rate of the heart, whether it is regular and normal, faster (tachycardia) or slower.

• Check the axis of the heart, which can reveal any enlargement of the heart (hypertrophy).

• Check the state of the myocardial muscle

MAJOR COMPONENT & PRINCIPLE OF OPERATION

ADVANTAGES• Higher diagnostical informatively and

possibility to represent the data in a topographic form.

• ECG also require to detect the chest pain or discomfort , shortness of breath , weakness , anxiety, abdominal pain.

• ECG can use to detect any latent (silent) cardiac conditions that might worsen with the stresses of surgery and anesthesia.

• The advantages of ECG also use to solve the underlying rate and rhythm mechanism of the heart.

• The others advantages of ECG are noninvasive, safe, inexpensive, and easy to perform, the necessary equipment is widely available.

DISADVANTAGES

• A static picture and may not reflect severe underlying heart problems at a time when the patient is not having any symptoms.

• It don’t always permit an accurate diagnosis. It can be normal despite a serious heart problem

• ECG machine helps lots of heart’s patient in this world to detect their heart failure.

• Detect heart failure functioning with easy, clear, and faster way.

• ECG machine can be used widely using ECG portable.

• The ECG waveform itself helps the doctor to analys the patient results.

CURRENT DESIGN ISSUE AND IMPROVEMENT

• Nowadays, patient can now easily check their own ECG.

• The equipment is a tiny and easy to bring anywhere.

• User can simply touch the Primer by two rights and left thumb, ECG trace is scrolling alive on the LCD screen.

• The device also delivers and displays the ECG on a PC through the USB cable and also transmitted over phone.

• The patients put the electrodes under each arm and attach a transmitter to the phone mouthpiece and the signal is sent to a monitoring center, where computers convert it to ECG readings.

• This information can then be transferred to a doctor, so that it’s making it possible to detect heart problems in some patients much earlier

• For the additional improvements included the incorporation of amplifiers, which improved the electronic signal, and direct writing instruments, which made the ECG data immediately available

CONCLUSION

• Electrocardiograph is a device that can record the electrical activities of the heart and display the data in graphic data called electrocardiogram (ECG).

• electrocardiographs share the same basic circuit in all ECG devices. This circuit use to analys the signal from patient heart and produce the result in graphical output.

• This is the most important device which can help the doctor to identify the problems in certain heart failure.
