Sid Matthews Community Service Award● Young persons community service award for Flintshire● 2017

Since the age of 13 I have been a member of the Royal Air Force Air Cadets (RAFAC) and have developed many different skills including Leadership, Teamwork and effective Communica-tion. Through RAFAC I rose to the highest rank achievable as a cadet (Cadet Warrant Officer, CWO), I was also awarded a 12 hour flying scholarship, won the Sid Matthews community service award for Flintshire, put forward as one of the top 34 cadets in the organisation, escorted the 2017 International Air Cadet Exchange 2017 in the UK and given a prestigious place on the International Air Cadet Exchange to Canada 2018 where I undertook once in a life time activities and forged international friendships.

I am currently a Cadet Forces Adult Volunteer with RAFAC, which involves being part of the staff team helping to organise activities and provide opportunities for young cadets.

I also enjoy cycling, swimming and going to the gym, having competed for my local swimming club and have experienced success in many different sports throughout my time in RAFAC.
