The Clarit-E series of horizontal gel units offers the most

versatile solution for DNA and RNA agarose gel

electrophoresis currently available. All units offer

unsurpassed economy of gel and buffer volume, with

gel size and sample number versatility. This eliminates

the need for multiple gel tanks for changes in gel size

or application.

All units contain removable UV transparent trays.

Gel size and sample number requirements can be exactly

matched in each unit as systems are available with one,

two or three tray options (dependent on model). Easy to

use, leak proof ‘plug and go’ gel casting dams are

included as standard to allow gels to be rapidly cast whilst

the Clarit-E unit is in use for gel running. Traditional tape

casting can be used, should this be preferred.

Although lid connectors are compatible with most major

power supplies, adapters are available to provide

complete compatibility.

Removable gel table allowsa Coolpack to sit above thegel in buffer offeringenhanced gel resolutionand faster run times.

The Clarit-E MultiSUB 4 combines high throughputelectrophoresis with the space and time-saving advantagesof a small, compact unit.

The number of samples can be maximised using combs withhigher numbers of teeth.

On the Mini gel tank a unique singlepiece pressure frame offers the optionof rapid single screw per side or newscrew free set up. Even pressure andbuffer contact across the platesresults in even sample migration andefficient heat removal from the gel.Glass plates are 2mm thick for Miniand 4mm thick for Mini Wide andMaxi tanks to reduce breakage.

A simple to use cooling pack systemensures enhanced resolution withoutcostly and time-consuming additionalequipment. No chiller, tap orobstructing connecting leads arerequired. The cooling pack is simplypre-chilled in a freezer and placed inthe gel tank. Additionally, the use ofcooling packs reduces buffer volume.

Run up to four gels at a time

While most vertical gel units can run only one or two gels, theClarit-E Mini units can run one, two or up to four gels at any timeusing a triple glass plate sandwich.

Glass plates with permanently bonded spacers, guarantee

tightened. For the Clarit-E Mini there are no screws to

tighten as the unique gel clamping system ensures fast set

up times and guaranteed leak-proof gel casting. Following

polymerisation, the gel running module is simply inserted

into the gel tank for electrophoresis.

Advance casting of multiple mini gels can help to achieveconsistent results between runs. Tank Sub Electroblotters offer a combination of increasedcapacity with economy saving features. Both units, Mini 10 x10cm and Maxi 20 x 20cm, have increased capacity overstandard systems. This is especially useful in high throughputlaboratories.

A uniform electric field is provided by a high intensity coiledelectrode and ensures uniform transfer across the blotsurface. The cassette’s open architecture ensures themaximum blot area allows direct transfer of current. These Semi Dry Blotters offer rapid transfer times for DNA,RNA and protein blotting - typically 15 to 30 minutes. Allunits can be used for all types of blotting via uncomplicatedbuffer and set up procedures. Each unit is compatible withtheir respective Clarit-E vertical gel system. The electrodes,comprising platinum coated anode and stainless steelcathode, will exhibit practically no corrosion and so providemany years of trouble free use. Uniform heat dispersion acrossthe blot sandwich ensures stable transfer times and no heatinduced sample loss or transfer distortions. Being translucent,it allows viewing of the blot sandwich to ensure correctpositioning and transfer is occurring correctly. Electrode platesare fully separated to prevent arching or damage.

These Capillary Blotting systems offer a contained unit forsouthern and northern blotting. These units incorporateoptimized permanent wicks, which eliminate the requirementfor overlapping wicks, offering greater consistency.

The porous polyethylene platform draws up transfer bufferfaster than traditional systems allowing for faster transfer times.

Side by side transfer of multiple gels can be performed in asingle set up.

Principle: Through capillary action, the buffer travels fromthe reservoir to the absorbent towelling via the poroussupports, permanent wick, gel and membrane. The Clarit-E Maxi Power Supplies can handle virtually anyapplication from high voltage electrophoresis to high currentblotting. Gel Drying

DryerWith a drying area of 21 x 31cm, the Midi gel dryer can drysix 10 x 10cm gels or a singlelarger gel. The Maxi Gel Dryerwith a 35 x 45cm drying areacan dry twelve 10 x 10cmmini gels simultaneously. The unit’s microprocessor controlstemperature and time, each parameter being displayed on itsown LED display. The gels are heated from the base platewhile the vacuum removes the moisture from below to drythe gel homogeneously. The Clarit-E Gel Documentation system is simple, inexpensive andultra compact. It contains a 16 bit CCD digital camera with asuperb resolution of 14.7 mega pixels. For added convenience,limited space and budget requirements, it can be used computer-free. A variety of images can be captured from agarose andother fluorescent gels, colorimetric gels, autoradiography filmand blotting membranes.
