5 Getting Started
♦ Once you have progressed farenough in the main story, you willbe able to change your Life freely(p. 9).
4. Input your nameusing the charactericons on the TouchScreen. Select thegreen icons toswitch between character sets.Select CONFIRM when you'redone.
5. Choose a Life andenter the world ofReveria! For moreinformation on eachLife, please refer tothe relevant pages (p. 12-13).
1. Select STARTGAME on the titlescreen.
2. Select an emptysave slot to createnew save data. Anempty slot willdisplay NEW GAME.
3. Customise youravatar'sappearance andvoice.
Playing from the Start
Select PAYABLE CONTENT on thetitle screen to connect to theinternet and download the OriginIsland Expansion Pack. For moredetails, please see the relevantsection (p. 27).
Add-On Content
♦ You will need at least two blocksfree on your SD Card in order todownload the Origin IslandExpansion Pack.
♦ Once purchased, the Origin IslandExpansion Pack can be re-downloaded for free.

Select START GAMEon the title screen,then select your savedata.

6 Saving
Examine a savepoint or the bed inyour room (p. 19)to save yourprogress.
Save Point
● Do not turn the power off, resetthe system or remove GameCards/SD Cards while saving.Make sure not to get dirt in theterminals. These actions couldresult in permanent data loss.
● Do not use external accessoriesor software to modify your savedata, as this can lead to aninability to progress or loss ofsave data. Any modification ispermanent, so be careful.
You can create up to threedifferent save games.

Visit a Guild Office(p. 20) to obtain alicence for yourchosen Life. EachLife comes with adifferent set of skil ls. For moreinformation on each Life, see therelevant sections (p. 12-13).

Bliss
Report to Flutter inyour room onceyou've gained enoughBliss and you'll beable to pick out aBliss Bonus. BlissBonuses let youenjoy various fun anduseful upgrades, suchas taking in a pet orincreasing the size ofyour Bag.
You will receive story-related requests fromFlutter in your room(p. 19), Challenges(p. 11) from your Lifemaster and other support characters,and Other Requests from variouscharacters in Reveria.Complete these quests to advancein the story, and to gain Stars, Bliss,Dosh and useful items.
Dosh
This is the currency ofReveria. Use it to buyitems, equipment andother useful things.
As your rank (p. 10) in a Life rises,you may learn new techniques(p. 10) or recipes for crafting items.
Raising Your Rank
You will gain experience points fromdefeating enemies and completingvarious other tasks, such as mining,woodcutting and fishing (p. 14), orcrafting items (p. 22). When youhave gained a certain number ofpoints, your level will rise,increasing your HP. You will alsogain some status points (p. 17) touse on improving your stats.
Levelling Up
As you perform various actions, theprogress gauge for the relevant skillwill be filled. When the gauge is full,the skill will level up, increasing itseffectiveness. As your skill levelsincrease, you'll be able to usebetter equipment, tools, etc.
♦ The gauge will fill faster for skillsthat belong to your current life.
Developing Your Skills
10 It's Your Life!
You'll be issuedwith a licence foryour chosen Life ata Guild Office(p. 20). Once youhave received a licence, you'll beable to get on with your Life!First, you'll need to pay a visit toyour Life master, who'll take you onas a pupil. The master for each Lifecan be found somewhere aroundCastele.
Each Life has a certain number ofranks. Complete Challenges (p. 11)then report back to your Life masterand you'll gain Stars. Once you'veearned enough Stars, you'll rank up!By ranking up, you'll learn newtechniques or recipes for craftingitems (p. 22), depending on yourLife. You may also receive rewardsfrom your master or other supportcharacters.The Life ranks are as follows:Novice, Fledgling, Apprentice,Adept, Expert, Master, Hero andLegend. Rumour has it that ranksbeyond even Legend may alsoexist...
Ranks
♦ You can check the controls forcombat and gathering techniquesby selecting LICENCES in themain menu. Press to switch thedisplay on the upper screen andview the Command List.
As you rank up,you'll learntechniques relevantto your selectedLife. Those drawnto battle will learn combattechniques, crafters will learn newrecipes, while others will learntechniques to aid them in gatheringmaterials.
Techniques
Pursuing a Life will yield certainbonuses, such as increasedmaximum HP. The bonuses differfrom one Life to another.As you rise up through the ranks,your Life bonuses will also improve.
Life Bonuses
As you progress inyour Life, you'llmeet a number ofsupport characterswho'll kindly offerhints and may even pass a few itemsyour way. They'll also occasionallyissue you with Challenges. Eachsupport character will display theicon for their associated Life(p. 12-13) beside their name. Whenthey have something new to tell youor something to give you, willappear above their head.
Support Characters
Spend a lot of time adventuring withsupport characters, and yourfriendship with them will improve.The friendlier you get with yourcompanions, the better.
Friendship
Once you have reached theFledgling rank in your current Life,you can go to a Guild Office to startanother Life. If you change yourLife, you will no longer be able touse Special Skills (p. 14) learnt inanother Life. However, you will stillbe able to use skills and techniqueslearnt in any other Life.

11 Challenges
An Introduction toChallenges
For any given Life,you will be issueda number ofChallenges tocomplete. To viewthe Challenges you can undertake,select LICENCES (p. 16) in the mainmenu, then press to viewChallenges you've been issued forthe selected Life. Alternatively,simply touch when on the mainscreen.
Reporting to YourMaster
When youcomplete aChallenge, reportback to yourcurrent Life master.Your master will award you Stars,allowing you to rank up. When yourank up, your master will issue newChallenges for you.

14 Basic Actions
Here are some of the basic actionsyou can perform in-game. You canlearn many other skills, and as yourank up in your Life, you will learnvarious other techniques as well.
Hold while moving.Dashing consumes SP.

Briefly hold , thenmove to sneakaround. Sneakingconsumes SP.Enemies are less likelyto notice you when you're sneaking.To stop sneaking, press again.

Press to draw yourweapon. When yourweapon is drawn,press again toattack. Press to putyour weapon away.When using a bow or staff, you canuse to change the arrow or magictype you are using.

Press whenstanding in front ofobjects that display and you'll be able topick up an item andstore it in your Bag.
Camera Controls
Use and to move the cameraaround. Press and simultaneously to reset the camerato its default position.

Combat Stats
Attack
Affects the amount ofdamage you deal toenemies usingphysical attacks.

The main menuoptions (p. 16-17)are displayed onthe Touch Screen.On the upperscreen, you canview your avatar'sstatus, stats andvarious otherinformation. Press to cyclethrough the different sets ofinformation. To change gamesettings, select OPTIONS on theTouch Screen.

The various stats for your avatar aredescribed below.
MagicDefence
Affects the amount ofdamage you take fromenemies' magicattacks.
Your tolerance to fireelement attacks. Thehigher this number,the less damage youwill take from thiselement.
Your tolerance towind element attacks.The higher thisnumber, the lessdamage you will takefrom this element.
Your tolerance towater elementattacks. The higherthis number, the lessdamage you will takefrom this element.
Your tolerance toearth element attacks.The higher thisnumber, the lessdamage you will takefrom this element.
Both you and your enemies mayhave a certain element bound toyour attacks. The higher your orthe enemy's tolerance to thatelement, the less damage anattack will deal.

The stats for yourabilities in each Lifeare displayed here.The higher a stat,the more likely youare to succeed in gatheringmaterials, crafting items (p. 22), etc.

Change yourequipment here. Use and to switchbetween equipmenttypes, use to selecta piece of equipment and press toconfirm your selection.
Gear
Equipment is divided up intocategories such as weapons,shields, tools, etc. Equipment fromdifferent categories will affectdifferent stats.Some equipment can only be usedby those in a particular Life, or onceyou have reached a certain level,learnt a particular skill, or reached acertain level with the required skill.

Press to cycle through theinformation displayed on theupper screen and view moredetails on a piece of equipment.

There are seven different categoriesof items.

Decor Place these itemsaround your room.

Touch SORT toarrange your items ordiscard items you nolonger want.

18 Living in Reveria
The Passage of Time
In Reveria, time passes from morningto afternoon to evening to night andso on. Select SLEEP at the bed inyour room (p. 19) or an inn (p. 20)to advance time to the followingmorning. If you select REST duringthe daytime, it will become night. Atnight, the atmosphere around townswill change. You may also hearpeople talking about different thingsat night.
You can gather thevarious plants,fruits, insects,mushrooms, etc.that can be foundaround Reveria. Sell these items inshops or use them as ingredients tocraft other items (p. 22). Someitems can be used just as they are.

Keeping Pets andMounts
Gain enough Blissand you'll be ableto keep pets inyour room or havea mount at thestables (p. 20). You can take petsout adventuring with you, whilemounts can be ridden aroundReveria.
Combat

Obtain licences here or cash inBounties with the Bounty Clerk tocollect your reward. In the CasteleGuild Office, you can also join orinvite other players for multiplayer(p. 24) and manage your StreetPasssettings (p. 26). During multiplayer,you can use the Exchange Box toswap items with other players(p. 24).
Rest or sleep hereto restore your HPand SP.

Talk with theLink Clerk atthe back of theGuild Office inCastele to hearall about Snapshots, Link Modefeatures (p. 25) and multiplayer(p. 24).

Each town also hasa Garage and anAirship Port.Castele's Garage islocated in SouthCastele, while the Airship Port is inWest Castele. Ride in aircraft totravel around Reveria quickly andeasily.

Items you craft, if exchanged viaStreetPass or multiplayer, maybe saved by a third party. Formore information, please refer tothe Information Sharing section(p. 2).
23 Lunares Coins
As you progress inthe game, you'llreceive LunaresCoins from Pamand various othercharacters. There are two types:Gold and Silver. These coins allowyou to offer prayers at the GoddessStatues (p. 20) located throughoutthe land.
Talk to Pam and complete Pam'sErrands to be rewarded with LunaresCoins. Use the coins to pray atGoddess Statues and receive specialitems.
These are rare Lunares Coins you'llreceive for completing SpecialRequests and some of the laterFlutter's Requests. You can alsoobtain them by trading SilverLunares Coins with a certaincharacter in-game. These coins canbe used to get extremely rare andpowerful items.

24 Multiplayer
Play together with up to two otherplayers. Invite them to your world,or visit theirs, and explore to yourheart's content. You can alsoexchange items with other playersusing this feature.There are two types of multiplayer:Local Wireless (Local Play) andOnline Multiplayer (Internet). Playtogether with others nearby usingLocal Wireless, or connect withfriends anywhere in the world usingOnline Multiplayer.

Touch onthe main screen (p. 8), then selectFRIENDS ⇒ OPTIONS ⇒ LINKSETTINGS and set Link Mode to ON.After activating Link Mode for thefirst time, you can simply touch theLink Mode icon on the main screen,then select ON when prompted inorder to use the feature.To switch Link Mode off, touch theLink Mode icon again, then selectFRIENDS ⇒ OPTIONS ⇒ LINKSETTINGS and set Link Mode toOFF.When Link Mode is activated, eventhough you're playing alone, you'llstill be able to connect with friendsvia the internet and see what they'reup to, as well as send messages tothem.
