BIOGRAPHYMasika Kalysha is an actress, model and singer/songwriter. Starring in VH-1’s super successful Love and Hip Hop franchise, Masika emerged as the wildly popular fan favorite on Season 1 of Love and Hip Hop Hollywood and has returned to Love and Hip Hop Hollywood, Season 3 much to the delight of her adoring fans.

2015 being a banner year for Masika’s music career, she independently released the singles “No More” and “Hella Hollywood” and on September 8th she dropped “Andale”, featuring rapper, Fetty Wap. “Andale” is available on iTunes and exclusively through Empire Distribution, the San Francisco-based distribution company recently releasing albums for Kendrick Lamar, The Game and Snoop Dogg.

On December 11th, on LA’s #1 hip-hop radio station, Power 106’s JCruz Morning Show, “Andale” received its radio debut and Masika announced that she was expecting her first child with Fetty Wap, creating one of the radio station’s top “on-air moments” of 2015 according to the Power 106 year end countdown reports. On March 29, 2016 she welcomed her beautiful daughter, Khari Barbie Maxwell.

Going back to work and back into the studio within 3 weeks of Khari’s arrival, Masika released her first single of 2016, “My Own” with a national TV debut on the September 19th episode of Love and Hip Hop Hollywood and a radio debut on LA’s Power 106. “My Own” is also available on iTunes and exclusively through Empire Distribution. The ever-busy singer/songwriter drops her second single of 2016, “Black Cinderella” again through Empire Distribution and on iTunes, October 10th.

During her entire pregnancy, Masika filmed a TV show which she created and executive produced, Pregnant in Pumps, for a major cable net,. Simultaneously, Masika also continues to expand her acting career with projects that have placed her among the likes of Danny Trejo, Nick Chinlund, Kevin Grevioux, Mekhi Phifer, Kellita Smith, Tangi Miller, Tony Rock, Vivica A. Fox, and actress/TV producer Terri Vaughn. Masika continues acting study intensives and songwriting and collaborating with top musicians, producers and industry hit-makers.

Also on the forward continuum, Masika’s commercial and top brand endorsements range from Ford and Sally's Beauty Supply to Adidas and Intel Centrino computers and now adds in the title of proud Momtrepreneur creating a line of cosmetics, of which her daughter is co-owner, Khari Barbie Maxwell.

Masika’s early career start brought about starring appearances in more than 50 music videos with the likes of Lil Wayne, Future, Lenny Kravitz, Flo Rida, French Montana and Wiz Khalifa while working with top video directors Colin Tilley, Director X, and the Terrero brothers. Her vibrant modeling, acting and television career have brought about features and covers in King Magazine, Smooth Magazine, The Source, XXL, Black Men's Magazine, VH-1.com and US Weekly, to name just a few.

Of French Creole heritage, Masika was born in Chicago, Illinois and she started her love of entertainment at the age of 5, taking dance classes and competing in talent competitions. Today, Masika, Khari and the family's popular Pomeranian Miss Fancy Tucker, call Hollywood, California home.
