Programs of Study/Pathways to Results Project at Lewis and Clark Community
College: A Brief History
• Radio Broadcasting Program– Reason for choice– Team members– Goals
• Examine existing program elements at 2 high schools• Expand program offerings to 2 additional high schools
Programs of Study/Pathways to Results Project at Lewis and Clark Community
College: A Brief History
Data examination findingHeadcount discrepancy between program
participants on paper and actual program participants
Students not properly classified as program majorsVarious reasons
Problem resolutions (still under development)
Working to eliminate discrepancies in declared majors on paper and in actuality Increased vigilance among CTE
coordinators and academic advisors when enrolling students
Redesigning the on-line registration system to require students to declare/reaffirm their major before being allowed to register for classes
Link program majors ‘ required courses and financial aid notification
New law prohibits financial aid to pay for classes that are not within a program’s required coursework
Anticipated outcomes of resolving major declaration discrepancies More accurate data for
reporting and program reviews
More timely completion of one’s chosen CTE program
More program completers Fewer students exhausting
financial aid resources before completion of program requirements
More students eligible for support services (especially from the Perkins Student Support Project)
Programs of Study/Pathways to Results Project at Lewis and Clark Community College: Electronic Guideposts Created
The Project’s goal was to complete a Program of Study template that would begin with 9th grade and conclude with an Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree in Radio Broadcasting from Lewis and Clark Community College
