Electronic energy-saving lamps OSRAM DULUX® ELEconomical alternatives to ordinary light bulbs

There are many different energy-saving lamps. OSRAM DULUX® EL lamps however guarantee whatthey promise: extreme economy and extremedurability. With energy savings of to 80% compared to ordinary light bulbs they will have a positive effecton your electricity bills right from the start. TheOSRAM DULUX® EL LONGLIFE 23 W, for example, will save up to e 193.00.

There is an OSRAM DULUX® EL whatever your needand whatever your taste:• With E14, E27 and B22d bases• Available in different shapes and sizes• Available in different wattages• In CLASSIC light bulb shape• ECONOMY and LONGLIFE models

Because OSRAM is so confident of the quality of its energy-saving lamps, OSRAM DULUX® EL lamps now come with new guarantees that no othermanufacturer can match at present:

• 10 year guarantee for all OSRAM DULUX® ELLONGLIFE lamps

• 5 year guarantee for all OSRAM DULUX® ELECONOMY lamps

• In view of the fact that EL SENSOR Plus and OSRAM DULUX® EL FACILITY are specifically used for more than three hours a day on average they areexcluded from the guarantee

In practice this means that if an OSRAM DULUX® ELLONGLIFE lamp should fail within ten years ofpurchase because of a product defect, the customercan send it back to OSRAM together with the tillreceipt for an immediate replacement. The sameapplies to the OSRAM DULUX® EL ECONOMY, butonly for five years.Both guarantees include replacing the lamp becauseof a product fault, provided the lamp was not used oncommercial premises.

OSRAM DULUX® EL – good for the environment

Compared with an ordinary light bulb, a single OSRAM DULUX® EL 20 W lamp will save around 1200 kWh of electricity throughout its life. It would takearound 300 kg of coal or 280 litres of oil to generatethis amount of power, so this gives some idea of the amount of natural resources that can be saved. The OSRAM DULUX® EL LONGLIFE is therefore verygood for the environment because lower energyconsumption also means fewer emissions and less air pollution. The OSRAM DULUX® EL LONGLIFE therefore helps reduce the greenhouse effect causedby CO2 emissions from burning fossil fuels.

Whatever the shape.

A single OSRAM DULUX® EL LONGLIFE 20 W will save around 300 kg of coal or 280 litres of oil.

OSRAM DULUX® EL LONGLIFElamps have to meet particularlyhigh requirements in terms offrequent switching and durability.They save up to 80% in electricityand last on average as long as 15 ordinary light bulbs one afterthe other. In commercialapplications there is an anotherimportant advantage in that thecosts for replacing the lamps are greatly reduced because anOSRAM DULUX® EL LONGLIFEonly has to be changed oncewhereas an ordinary light bulbwould have to be changed 15 times.

On average, a single OSRAM DULUX® EL LONGLIFE 20 W replaces 15 ordinary 100 W lightbulbs of the same brightness. During its 15,000 hours of operation it consumes 300 kWh of electricity – at 0.13 r/kWh that means r 39.00 in electricity costs. Over the same period,the 15 incandescent lamps consume 1500 kWh of electricity at a cost of r195.00. Even after allowing for the difference in purchase costs this means that each OSRAM DULUX ® ELLONGLIFE 20 W lamp saves r 160.31.
