• From the City College Library homepage click “Quick links to selected resources”.

have their ID validated at the Circulation Desk.

• Type in your 14-digit CCNY ID barcode

Opposing Viewpoints Resource Center provides complete sources for information on social issues. You can access viewpoint articles, topic overviews, statistics, primary

documents, links to websites, and full-text magazine and newspaper articles.

Searching• Use the pull-

down menu to select a search option, i.e., subject (default), keyword, or full-text.

• Click search.

• Viewpoints provides pros and cons about the topic from various viewpoints and opinions.

“Reference” provide information about the topic searched from various reference materials, such as encyclopedias.

Viewing Results• Some searches

will also produce a list of related subjects that will be posted on the left side of the screen in a tan box.

• Click on any subject to view additional information.


Print/E-mail • To print either full text

or citations select the print icon and follow the instructions.

• To e-mail either full text or citations select the e-mail icon, and follow the instructions.

Browsing• Selecting browse at the

top of the screen will list all the subject headings in the database.

• You can also browse by selecting a specific subject grouping or title.


Searching• Just type in your

keyword and it will search all 140 reference books for your topic.

• It will search for the exact words and plurals (e.g. world, worlds, world-famous).

• Use quotations marks around your search term when you are looking for an exact phrase.

Allows you to:• Search full text or just

entry headings.• Restrict searches to

specific books or subjects.

• Find references to people or dates only.
