Introduction Magnetic flowmeters operate on the principle of Faraday's Law of MagneticInduction. It is an ideal method to measure water flow, as its accuracy would not be affected by change in temperature, pressure or fluid properties. There is no pressure loss at all. This results in big savings for customers' energy bills. The only requirement is a minimum

conductivity of 5 µS/cm.

Construction

Each flowmeter consists of a measuring sensor and an electronic converter. Sensor types can be inline orinsertion according to different accuracy requirements and installation constraint. A wide variety of converters are available to suit different applications. All converters are microprocessor based, fully auto-compensated and interference free. Input signal isproportional to induced e.m.f. fromflow sensor (detector head) Advanced communication interface and protocol makes it easy to transmit data to computer systems. In particular, a new version of energy calculator type converter with Modbus communication has been launched. Ithas completely changed the concept offlow monitoring and thermal energymeasurement.
