Electrical products

• are manufactured produce used for

the need of an easy & convenient

usage, control and transmission of

electricity



Wires – used for conveyance of

Triplex wire

• an aerial cable that utility

company uses to feed the

power pole



Single-strand wire

• also known as solid wire

• cheap

• used where its flexibility is

not greatly needed



Stranded wire

• composed of bundles of wire

to make a large conductor

• flexible



Non-metallic sheathed wire

• commonly called Romex

• has either two or three

conductors and a bare

ground wire

• the typical wiring used in

most homes

• flexible



Copper electrical wire

• a very good conductor of

electricity

• is very easy to mold and

bend

• reasonable price for

residential use.



Silver wire

• the best conductor of electricity

• used in electrical wires for high

temperature conditions

• not so easy to bend

• costs too much

• Commonly used in audio and

video equipment



Outlets – are openings,

protected with a

receptacle plate where

electrical plugs (from the

appliances) are inserted,

so as to get electricity

from the power source.

• often used for

supporting ceiling

walls or ceilings



Round Pan Electrical Box

• metal box typically used

for installation of ceiling

or wall mounted light

fixtures up to 50 pounds

• plastic box may used for

outlet mounting



Square box

• provides maximum volume

for multiple conductors and

connectors

• may also be installed in

ceilings or walls for lighting

fixtures, switches or

receptacles



Locknut

• used to secure threaded

conduits or connectors to

electrical junction boxes or

enclosures in wet locations



Bushing

• a hollow electrical insulator

which a conductor may pass

• are used where high voltage

lines must pass through a

wall or other surface



Pull box

• provides housing for power lines and

telecommunication cables that need to be

hidden from view

• gives workers access to the lines and cables

that are necessary for the operation of a city and

building utility infrastructures

• can be buried underground or stored above

ground



Indoor pull box

• constructed of sheet

metal approved for all dry,

interior and non-

hazardous locations

• protects the equipment

from falling dirt and

splashed or hose-

directed water



Telecommunications pull box

• houses conduit

communication cables

• cables should be able to be

pulled through the box without

incurring damage



Underground pull box

• should be grounded to their

location and made of

precast concrete or cast iron

with galvanized

• covers should be removable

for access to the contained

cables



Outdoor pullbox

• able to withstand dirt,

rain, sleet and snow

while still protecting

the equipment inside

• made of galvanized

metal, cast aluminum

or fiberglass



Switch

• an electrical component

that can break an electrical

circuit, interrupting the

current or diverting it from

one conductor to another

• may be directly manipulated

by a human to control power

flow in a circuit

Circuit Breaker

- A device that can automatically stop an electric current, before it becomes dangerous. The circuit breakers are housed in a panel box, and is usually located in a service zone like kitchen (for residences) and electrical room per floor (for large buildings).

- This is a centralized control board which is found on each floor or major area of a building.

- A circuit breaker can be turned off for a particular floor, if the said floor needs an electrical repair or maintenance, for the safety of the electrician / repair men from electrocuting.
