In many circumstances, a customer project will require a more in-depth approach than a simple product installation, especially where the application includes the need to adhere to specific national or international standards.
This may include circumstances where hazardous areas or extreme environmental conditions exist, or where specific regulatory requirements are set, e.g. for life safety or satisfactory electrical installation.
Given the complexity of many standards, confusion or misinterpretation can easily lead to project delays, budget overruns and costly extra time on-site.
Our aim is to help our customers to avoid these risks, by supporting them fully with professional advice on our product lines and their application to meet current regulatory requirements, standards and codes of practice. Where appropriate, we can guide our customers to our product lines which have been certified for use in particular applications.
Additionally, for many of our brands we offer formal technical support services, including system design and site surveys, to ensure the right product solution is proposed.
A brief overview of our services is shown here. For more information please contact your local sales representative or the respective brand head office.

Technical services
In addition to our more general support services, we offer structured training and seminars for a number of our core brands.
Many of our technical team members sit on the boards and committees which work towards production, update and the publishing of standards and codes of practice.
We believe this places Thomas & Betts in a very strong position to advise and help you regarding changes to legislation and the best practices for implementation of products in the electrical environment.
We offer a range of CPD seminars, for Emergi-Lite, Furse and Kopex-Ex, to help our customers broaden their knowledge and skill set regarding market application of such products, and also keep abreast of industry developments and regulatory changes.
Our CPD seminars aim to provide:
l Critical and relevant facts on changes in legislation, and the impact of these changes on your business
l Guidance on effective methodologies to simplify implementation, and ways of reducing overall labour and maintenance costs
Additionally, where requested, we can also tailor a course, provide an informal briefing or supply specific training on our product lines.
CPD seminars and training can be held at our offices, at customer premises or other convenient locations to suit individual needs.
