Electrical Isolation Fittings on Pipelines ----- Electrical isolation fittings don't always work on pipelines. Earlier today I found an article about electrical isolation fittings, which are installed on pipelines to control stray current corrosion and other problems. It seems that the produced water in Ecuador is so conductive that the water shorts the isolation fitting. Here is an image from the article identified below the drawing. Has anyone else encountered this problem in produced water injection pipelines? What am I missing? Please advise, preferably with references so I can learn. Thanks.
