Ikfjp; ( INTRODUCTION )

The power maintenance wing is dealing with a huge connected load of 22517 KW (up to Jan.

2021) with an average monthly consumption of over 20.16 Lakh units. This is through a

distribution network comprising 24 HT connections &332 Nos. LT connections. The supply is

being availed from JVVNL/AVVNL, KEDL, MPPKVVCL, UPPCL& BSES. In addition,

uninterrupted power supply is ensured at 15 PRS, 18 UTS cum PRS centre & 88 UTS terminals

all over the division. There are as many as 242 Nos. electrical pumps installed at various locations

in the division for watering arrangements.

Battery charging facility has been provided at washing lines, ARME & ART siding,

saloon sidings and station platform at KTT, station platform & saloon siding at SWM,

ART & ARME siding at GGC, MFD coach siding at BXN & saloon siding at BTE. In all

30 nos. battery chargers have been provided at these stations.

3.8. PRE-COOLING CHARGING FACILITIES FOR AC COACHES

27 nos. pre-cooling points have been provided in the pit line, stabling line, saloon siding &

station platform at KTT, SWM, GGC, BTE &SGZ railway station.

1. COMMISSIONING OF RENEWABLE ENERGY SOURCES –

Solar Power Plant – Rooftop solar power plant of 152.5 kWp capacity has been installed

at 02 stations of Kota division (GGC – 73 kWp, BTE – 79.5 kWp). It has been generated

1.67 Lakhs units per Annum and saving in Rs. 10.89 Lakhs per Annum.

2. USE OF ENERGY EFFICIENT FITTINGS

LED lights in Service buildings - All service buildings of Kota division has been

completed by providing 20 watt LED tube Light fittings.

LED light at Railway Station – All stations of Kota division has been completed by

providing LED lights on PF and offices.

3. STAFF AMENITIES –

Emergency Feed in Running Room – Emergency supply by providing DG set provided

in all Running Rooms (Kota, SWM, GGC) of Kota division.

4. Improvement in Goods Shed Lighting –

Improved Illumination level - Improvement has been done in illumination level in Goods

Shed of Bundi, Kota, SWM, GGC, HAN, BAZ, SGZ & MEP by replacement & providing

additional LED light fittings

5. Automation of Platform lighting - - 70% PF Lighting circuits has been controlled with

Signalling system at SGZ, BWM, RMA, LKE, IDG, SWM, GGC, SMBJ, BXN, BAZ and

SYL (11 stations) of Kota division. It has been resulted Annual saving of 81000 kWh and

saving by cost in Rs. 6.89 Lakhs per Annum.

6. OTHERS –

Beautification – Beautification of Kota station building and DRM office compound has

been done by providing LED lighting & Lighting fountain.

Scrap Disposal – 19923 Kg. Ferrous and 7313 Kg. Non-Ferrous disposed off during the

year 2019-20.

Energy Consumption –

During the year 2020 - 21, 18.149 Million units consumed in current year This is 7.03 %

more than last year’s consumption in the same period.

Solar Generation – During the year 2020-21, 12.28 lakh units generated by renewable

sources installed over Kota div. This is 02.58% more than last year in the same period

Provision of Electronic Energy Meter - 133 nos. Electronic Energy meters provided staff

quarter in place of conventional Energy meter.

Energy Efficient Pumps – 11 nos. ordinary pump replaced by Energy efficient

submersible pump set at various stations over the division during the year 2019 – 20.

Energy Audit – Energy Audit of 08 locations of Kota division have been done during

2020-21
