Make the most of your energy Casino Hypermarkets - Reunion & Mayotte 16 MW roof-top photovoltaic power plant GreenYellow, a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Casino Group, is dedicated to the development of photovoltaic plants on shop roof-tops and shopping centre car parks. A designer and developer of solar power units, GreenYellow has defined an ambitious development programme, that consists, first, in fitting out Casino Group sites located in regions with high sunlight (south of a line that goes from Bordeaux to Grenoble, in Corsica, Reunion and Mayotte). GreenYellow has entrusted Schneider Electric with the turnkey production of eight photovoltaic units on the roof-tops of stores, which represents a total of 50,000 solar panels on roof-tops and carports. The contract cover stores in Reunion (Jumbo Score Le Port, Jumbo Score Cressonière Saint André, Jumbo Score Saint Benoît, Jumbo Score Savanna St Paul, Jumbo Score Sainte Marie, Jumbo Score St Pierre 400) and Mayotte (Jumbo Score Mamoudzou). The installed power is more than 16 MW, representing the equivalent of energy consumption of 19,000 people. This clean energy represents an annual saving of 12,500 tonnes of CO2. The power plant was designed to achieve the highest level of performance from the installation, producing the greatest amount of electricity possible (in terms of kWh). The monitoring and control system is capable of detecting even minor incidents.
