RATIONALE BEHIND THE FORUM

In the wake of rising climate concerns and rising interest in electric vehicles, Southeast Asian nations are shifting towards the EV industry and its ecosystem for the transportation sectors. The electric car boom has spilt over into Indonesia and the Southeast Asia region with an anticipated rise in the adoption of EVs. Thailand, Malaysia, and Indonesia – have established comprehensive EV policies that take a holistic approach to developing the entire EV ecosystem by promoting consumer demand and incentivizing private investments across the value chain.

WHY INDONESIA

The Indonesian government is very supporting in pushing the Electric Vehicle agenda forward. The Indonesian government through its various ministries are pushing towards the development of the electric car and related infrastructure to be part of Indonesia's low carbon emission vehicle (LCEV) program. In the program, the government wants LCEVs portion to contribute at least one fifth of all domestically manufactured vehicles by 2025. The era of electric-based vehicles in Indonesia will help combat air pollution with the various ministries and the automotive industry strong support to collectively push this clean initiative in Indonesia. The groundwork to spur domestic electric vehicle industry has already started with various incentives being rolled out, including tax breakthroughs, import incentives and the development of lithium battery manufacturing and charging station infrastructure advancement.

MAIN OBJECTIVES OF THE FORUM

The forum and exhibition aims to connect stakeholders from the region to tap into business opportunities, collaborations and build relationships with the growing Indonesian EV marketplace.Co-located with 8th Asia Pacific Natural Gas Vehicles Association International Biennial Conference & Exhibition (ANGVA 2019) and 8th Biogas Asia Pacific Forum 2019, the objective to promote Clean Air for Indonesia cities and transport sector will bring together stakeholders in one place, one location. The Electric Vehicles Indonesia Forum And Exhibition will gather the region’s stakeholder bringing you case studies from prominent EV manufacturers discussing market insights, technology innovations that are relevant for the region. EVs and clean vehicles are leading stakeholders’ agendas as governments in Southeast Asia are adopting a cleaner and more efficient way to roll out public and private transportation so are investing next generation charging infrastructure and leveraging partnerships for transport companies, vehicle OEMs and technology providers.
