    ELECTIONWhy stand as a candidate in the HWCP election?It is important that local residents bring their knowledge and understanding to influence and supportthe work of Hartcliffe and Withywood Community Partnership (HWCP). HWCP is goingthrough a period of change and needs local people who care about their community to help lead

    us through this change..

    How will voting work?Hartcliffe and Withywood are divided into five areas - Four Acres; Withywood; Whitehouse;Hareclive and Teyfant . Each area has two representatives on the Board.

    people. Other board members include representatives from partner organisations,local councillors and people with knowledge and skills who want to support the

    organisation. Together these people make all the major decisions to ensure theorganisation runs well and makes a positive impact in the community.

    Being a board memberHWCP needs Trustees to be responsible for making sure the organisation does what it is meant todo for the benefit of the community. Becoming an HWCP board member will also enable localresidents to gain experience and skills that can be of great benefit to themselves.

    Other benefitsfor board members include:

    Full induction programme

    Reasonable expenses paid for travel and childcare

    Opportunities to develop skills and knowledge

    To stand as an elected board member you must live in Hartcliffe orWithywood and attend:Monthly board meetings (lasting approximately two hours each)Occasional training sessions (these will be held locally whenever possible)Attend other task or focus groups as necessary and within reasonIf elected to the board you will become a Trustee and Director of HWCP: You must

If you donthave a suitable photograph we may be able to take one at the briefing session for candidates onThursday 4th November-4-6pm in the @symes Community Building. You do not have to provide aphotograph if you dont want to.
