My Media Presentation.

How does your media product use , develop or challenge forms and convections of real media

products?• I really feel that my magazine is capable of standing

on the music magazine shelves and selling as it has the look to it of a real music magazine such as; NME. I love how my title of my magazine ‘play’ swirls around the left hand corner where your eyes automatically look in the primary optical area.

How does your media product represent particular social groups?

• Music is something that everybody loves so there is a general interest in music magazines because there is something for everyone. I know that by using a title like ‘Play’ gives a connection to music straight away. The colours of Black, Red and White all work well too because they stand out and are passionate.

What kind of media institution might distribute your media product and

why?My magazine comes across as mainstream. It

isn’t aimed to be a local magazine. It is for a market that enjoys music but not hardcore, more like pop, rock and r&b, and there isn’t many music magazines that offer that.

Page 5: Eleanordyke

Who would be the audience for your media product?

• My target audience (from my questionnaire results) would be 16-24. I would say more female based then male. It would suit the kind that shopped in high street stores such as; Topshop. And enjoyed listening to current chart songs.

Page 6: Eleanordyke

How did you attract/address your audience?

• I used big, and bold colours to make a statement so that my magazine would stand out. I used eye catching images to make people stop and look. I feel that my layout is very typical of what you would want to see on a music magazine and easy to read and understand.

What have you learnt about technologies from the process of

constructing this product?• I already knew how to use the internet, take

digital photos and load them onto my computer so that was ok. But I had never used photo shop and that helped sharpen the quality of my photos.

Page 8: Eleanordyke

Looking back on your preliminary task, what do you feel you have

learnt in the progression from it to the full product?

• My school magazine was good but it wasn’t great the photograph was way too dark and I didn’t use photo shop or any fancy text on the cover, so it looks a lot different to my school magazine. If I had time I would change my school magazine photo my editing it.
