June Column
Big Sir is back from hiking in the mountains of the Cin-
que Terre in Liguria Province of Italy, which he survived
almost intact. It is good to be back and looking forward
to the next luncheon on June 12. Walking poles and hik-
ing shoes would have been a big help. At the end of the
day of hiking a beer in the village of Manarola was well
earned.
A recent article may be of interest to someone you know
who may be interested in having free TV with no
monthly bills. Who gets free TV pursuant to a Federal
law is determined by first two digits of U.S. zip
codes. There are seven zip codes qualifying in California
and 93 in Fresno is one of them. The reception of the TV
programs is digital Clear-Cast. It is necessary to make a
one-time purchase the Clear-Cast micro antenna device
which normally costs $98, plus shipping. The Free TV
channels exclude the cable channels. Anyone interested
should call TV Hotline at 1-877-287-4230

May Results
I found a skunk at Airways golf course last
month, but I did not receive information on
the results of tournament play.
We did play Tues. 6/4 at Madera Muni. I
was told that the Sir championship was at
stake. Hopefully I will be able to report the
results next month. I can report that yours
truly played good today except for a 6 6 7 3
finish.
Buck I apologize that I did not notice that I
had no results, I have been traveling a lot
this month. I will be more diligent in the
future.

An acquaintance of mine who is a physician told this story about her then-four-year-old daughter. On the
way to preschool, the doctor had left her stethoscope on the car seat, and her little girl picked it up and
began playing with it. Be still, my heart, thought my friend, gee, my daughter wants to follow in my foot-
steps and be a doctor! Then the child spoke into the instrument: "Welcome to McDonald's. May I take
your order?"

Guest Speaker at May Luncheon
Fresno State basketball coach
Rodney Terry
Coach Terry came to FSU from Texas, with
goals of raising the talent level of our players, seek-
ing a “Blue Collar” team that not only wanted to
play, but would be serious about their education
and getting a degree. H encourages the old and new
players to come together as a family and not be
afraid to compete at a higher level.

Did you hear the one about…. A man was being tailgated by a stressed out woman
on a busy street. Suddenly, the light turned yellow
just in front of him. He did the right thing, stopping
at the crosswalk. The tailgating woman hit the roof,
and the horn, screaming as she missed her chance to
get through the intersection.
As she was still in mid-rant, she heard a tap on her
window and looked up into the face of a police offi-
cer. He took her to the police station where she
placed in a holding cell.
After a couple of hours, the policeman opened the
cell door and said, "I'm very sorry for this mistake.
You see, I pulled up behind your car while you were
blowing your horn, flipping off the guy in front of
you, and cussing a blue streak at him. I noticed the
'What Would Jesus Do?' bumper sticker, the 'Follow
Me to Sunday School' bumper sticker, and the
chrome-plated Christian fish emblem on the trunk.
Naturally, I assumed you had stolen the car!
The Importance of walking I like long walks, Especially when they are taken By people
who annoy me.
The only reason I would take up walking Is so that I could
hear heavy breathing again.
I have to walk early in the morning, Before my brain figures
out what I'm doing...
I joined a health club last year, Spent about $100 Haven't
lost a pound. Apparently you have to go there!
If you are going to try cross-country skiing,
Start with a small country.
I know I got a lot of exercise The last few
years,...... Just getting over the hill.
We all get heavier as we get older, Because
there's a lot more information in our heads.
That's my story and I'm sticking to it.
