Settling solids, the sludge, holds sand grit and larger items that clog the pumping system and ultimately wear out the pump. By installing an ejector prior to the main pump, costly maintenance of the pump can be prevented. Ejectors have no moving parts and allow unobstructed transport of impurities such as settled solids. In waste water facilities, domestic and industrial waste water undergoes treatment. Also rainwa- ter collected by the City’s sewages is processed and cleaned before it is returned into the sur- rounding waterways.
