1. NIGHT RESTRICTIONS No TKOF and LDG for Jet ACFT without

prior approval during 01 APR–30 SEP 2330–0600LT.

2. WARNING High terrain NE of AD. Large birds are often present SEP–APR.

3. PREFERENTIAL RWY TKOF: RWY 23 if cond permit. LDG: RWY 05 if cond permit.

4. NOISE ABATEMENT PROCEDURE4.1 ACFT must not be operated in a way

that it will cause more than 94 dB(A) by day (0600-2330LT), or 87 dB(A) by night (2330–0600LT) at relevant noise monitoring points.

4.2 For environmental reasons avoid reverse thrust when possible.

4.3 After take-off all aircraft whether operating from RWY 05 or 23 by day or night should expedite their climb to 1500ft QFE before reducing power to maintain a minimum rate of climb of 500ft per minute until 3000ft QFE.

4.4 RWY 23, aircraft using the ILS shall not descend below 2000ft QFE before intercepting the glidepath nor thereafter fl y below it unless instructed by Radar. Aircraft landing without assistance from the ILS or Radar shall follow a descent path which will not result in their being at any time lower than an approch path consistent with a 3° glidepath.

4.5 RWY 05, jet aircraft using the ILS shall not descend below 2000ft QFE before intercepting the glidepath. Prop aircraft may, when instructed by Radar, be descended to 1600ft QFE. Aircraft landing without the assistance of ILS or Radar shall follow a descent path which will not result in their being at any time lower than the approach path consistent with a 3° glidepath.

4.6 Noise Preferential Routes4.6.1 The Noise Preferential Routes (NPR)

specifi ed below are compatible with ATC requirements and shall apply in both IMC and VMC.

4.6.2 The tracks to be fl own by all departing jet aircraft and by all other departing aircraft of more than 5700kg MTWA unless otherwise instructed by ATC or unless deviations are required in the interests of safety.

4.6.3 The Noise Preferential Routes are incorporated in ATC Standard Instrument Departure Clearances (SID) where appropriate. IFR jet aircraft operating on routes where the SID does not incorporate the NPR will be issued with a non-standard clearances by ATC.

Take-OffRunway

NPR

05 Climb straight ahead to D5. Note that for aircraft departing on the SID via Dean Cross, the NPR terminates at D5.

23 Climb straight ahead to D5.

5. TRAFFIC NOTES5.1 Use of aircraft stand ID signs: Twy guide lines and visual docking/

parking guidance system of aircraft stands:

Nose-in parking is in operation on all aprons except the General Aviations area and cargo stands which are marshalled. All nose–in stands have stand number, yellow centreline and guidance in the form of either Visual Docking Guidance System or AGNIS and ground stop arrow. Cross reference to the taxiway, stands and numerals against the stand designator on the face of the pier is recommended to avoid any confusion.

The following stands are fi tted with

Visual Guidance Docking system (Safedoc): 14-29, 30, 30L, 30R, 32-39.

The following stands are not fitted with Stand Entry Guidance. Marshalling is provided: 6, 7, 61-63.

5.2 ACFT pushing/powering back must face the direction of taxi, and be aligned on the TWY centreline before commencing taxi.

5.3 DEP RWY 23. Advise ATC if full RWY length required i.s.o. TKOF intersection 23A.

5.4 Pre-departure clearance by ‘Data Clearance Link’ (DCL) is available at Glasgow for suitably equipped aircraft. DCL must be compliant with ARINC 623-2 and Eurocae ED 85-A. DCL is available from EOBT -25 until EOBT +15 minutes. DCL Clearances will not be issued if requested later than EOBT +15 minutes.

Successful clearances must be ACCEPTED within 5 minutes of receipt or a ‘Revert to voice’ message will be received. If the system or the controller detects any data errors, a ‘revert to voice’ message will be received. If the attempt to obtain a clearance is unsuccessful the aircraft should revert to voice RTF.

6. RWY RESTRICTIONS6.1 RWY 05/23: ACFT exceeding 12,000kg

not authorized to turn within the RWY width for backtracking.

7. vISual appROaCh RWY 05/23 All aircraft whose MTWA exceeds 5700kg

must route to D5 IUU/IOO and maintain 1600ft until established on FAT.

8. CaT 2/3 OpS8.1 arrivals Leave RWY 05/23 via TWY A or G. Do not report “RWY vacated” after LDG

until passing Hold A2 or G2.

8.2 Departures Use holding points at Link A2 or G2.

Intermediate take-off points will not be used.

1. STaRT-up Crews should be in receipt of departure

clearance prior to requesting start-up.

2. aTC ClEaRaNCE2.1 Aircrew can request ATC clarance up to

15 minutes before EOBT. On first contact with ATC, state aircraft type, stand number and latest ATIS received.

2.2 Due to the proximity of the Shanwick Oceanic boundary to Glasgow, pilots may be required to request and receive an Oceanic Clearance prior to departure.

2.3 The requirement to obtain Oceanic Clearance prior to departure is:

2.3.1 Jet Departures2.3.1.1 If flight planned to enter Shanwick

between ERAKA and VENER (inclusive), Oceanic Clearance required prior to departure.

2.3.1.2 If flight planned to enter Shanwick North of ERAKA or South of VENER , request when airborne.

2.3.2 Non Jet Departures Request when airborne.

2.4 If Oceanic clearance is not required prior to departure, pilots are reminded that they should request clearance between 90 and 30mins prior to Shanwick boundary.

2.5 Pilots are responsible for initiating a clearance request. ATC will not allow aircraft to depart unless they are assured that the crew has receive an Oceanic Clearance.

2.6 Pilots are reminded that the Oceanic Clearance (including level allocation) is valid only from the OCA Entry Point. ATC and/or Domestic ACC will issue ATC clearance to the OAC Entry Point.

2.7 An Oceanic clearance should be requested when an accurate boundary estimate can be calculated and submitted between 30 and 90mins prior to the Oceanic boundary ETA. Requesting more than 90mins prior to the ETA may result in rejection of the Request for Clearance (RCL).

2.8 The request must contain an accurate boundary ETA, based on the expected ETD. Pilots are responsible for informing Shanwick to request a reclearance, as soon as possible, if the Shanwick bound-ary ETA changes by 3min or more.
