Egmont is a media corporation. It was founded in 1878 in Copenhagen,

Denmark. They produce magazines, books, Films, Cinemas, Interactive

media, and television. Egmont has traditionally been magazine publishing

but has over the years evolved to comprise mass media generally. Since

1948 Egmont has produced and published Disney comics for the Nordic

market under magazines named after Donald Duck. Egmont has a number

of local country branches: Australia, Austria, Bulgaria, China, Croatia,

Denmark, Estonia, Germany, UK, USA etc.

Egmont also own Egmont foundation, which is a commercial foundation

with a charitable wing. They support social, cultural and scientific causes.

Egmont helps improve children’s and young people’s quality of life,

donating more than EUR 235 million to social, cultural and health products

since 1920.

Egmont is one of Scandinavia’s leading media groups producing weeklies,

magazines, comics, books, educational materials, activity products, movies

and TV programmes. Also, the name Egmont is behind interactive games,

games consoles, music and a wide range of digital media. Egmont publishes

media in more than 30 countries.

Egmont also launched the teen pop magazine ‘We Love Pop’.

On We Love Pop’s website they have a latest news column which features

people like one direction, Ariana Grande, Taylor Swift etc. Due to all these

artists being quite young themselves it proves that this magazine is

intended for people of the younger generation. Furthermore, the mast also

uses a love heart instead of the word ‘love’ which makes it more suitable

for the younger generation. In addition, the masthead is also written in a

speech bubble making the magazine seem less formal and more like a

conversation with a friend.

Synergy.

This corporation does not have award ceremonies or other magazines to

get help and support from. The only synergy this magazine has is their

website and twitter page. Their twitter page promotes their magazine due

to the fact their target audience is the younger generation and they

stereotypically use social networking sites regularly. Furthermore, it is more

likely for them to check the updates on the website also which will make

them want to buy the magazine if they like what they are reading.
