Egg Drop Project
By: Joseph Gomes
Problem At Hand
The main problem was figuring out how to make a
container that can save an egg from a 20ft drop. If
it cracked you did not complete the task. But if it
survived you have accomplished what you had to
do!
Initial Ideas For The Egg Container
● Parachute
● Have edges sticking out to create drag during
the fall
● A box with a lot of pieces sticking out of it so it
absorbs impact.
● AND FINALLY, my actual box which is just a
plain old box.

My Container
I went for the weight factor for my
project. I tried to make it as light as
possible but very durable at the same
time. I thought keeping two boxes tightly
packed might create some impact
protection and keep the egg inside from
moving. Ultimately decreasing the
chance for the egg to break.

Did It Work!?
Well… No. Unfortunately my box did not work. Probably
due to the lack of cardboard around the egg. Keeping in
mind since I went for the weight factor i lacked in an
abundance of cardboard in my design. WE’LL GET EM
NEXT TIME!
Improvements That Could’ve Been Made
Making the the container much more durable! Actually using
glue tape etc to make the box so an egg will actually survive a
fall. And somehow making a way that the box will take all the hit
and the egg wont move at all inside.
