Your challenges

1. Use two yellow post-its2. Write the name of your council on each post-it3. Then write your personal view of your council’s

two challenges in addressing efficiency gains (one per post-it)

4. Place post-its on the wall5. Scan the range of challenges identified by

others 6. Play ‘snap’ and cluster post-its in related

themes/groups

Where are we now?

• Metrics now further developed and tested in IESE

• CoP in place• Prototype platform in place for

critique on 20 April• 14 LECs delivered

Page 22: Efficiency Exchange; Smarter local government

Next steps

• 20 April prototype testing – it would be great if NW had a least one nominee

• We want to offer you a free facilitated problem-solving workshop

• Join the Efficiency Exchange• Share your practice• Share your ideas• Pose problems

Blueprint for March 20111. A culture of collaborative knowledge generation,

learning, sharing and problem-solving in respect of efficiency & VfM

2. A resilient user orientated, easy-to-use, technological platform which rapidly captures content in a diverse range of forms ‘pulling’ collaborative knowledge generation, learning, sharing and problem solving

3. A reliable, robust and transparent web-based benchmarking tool which enables councils, and their partners, to easily identify and transfer appropriate good practice

4. A passion amongst LGA Group frontline staff to capture and share good practice, and contribute to problem solving; and encourage others to do so too.
