It kind of sucks

a) Takes great skill + effort to find/understand/use successfully

b) Tools (twitter, blogger, facebook, flickr, second life, etc not designed

for education

Students HATE having to learn multiple tools for one class

It's a lot of work for teachers to manage

Often Confusing

Tools aren't designed for

educational use. So teachers/students

have to work around

assumptions of the tool.

Across tools, classes, majors.

Each class using social media is one-off experiment.

This can't scale.
