I am Giselle Tolentino Jamilla, 20 years

of age. I am a Bible Baptist Christian from

Dasmariñas City, Cavite, a 3rd year student

and taking a course of Bachelor of

Elementary Education major in Special

Education at Cavite State University(CVSU)-

Main Campus Indang, Cavite. I decided to

take this course is because I want to

explore the real world and to understand

more about the word “contentment”.

Page 4: Educational Technology

I think it would also be better if we know and understand the side

of every special child and their parents. I know that in the future it would

become a great challenge for me to handle this children, but one thing

that I know is that, it is not an accident to have this course but it is God’s

will for me and I pray that someday and somehow I can make miracle to

someone who needs me. I know I am not as good as other education

students are, but I know that there is still something inside me that I

haven’t explore yet, that they can’t do.

Educational Technology in a

Nutshell

Page 6: Educational Technology

Educational Technology is

the effective use of technological

tools in learning. As a concept, it

concerns an array of tools, such as

media, machines and networking

hardware, as well as considering

underlying theoretical perspectives

for their effective application.

Page 7: Educational Technology

Nonetheless, electronic

educational technology, also

called e-learning, has become an

important part of society today,

comprising an extensive array of

digitization approaches,

components and delivery

methods.

Page 8: Educational Technology

Educational technology includes numerous types of media that

deliver text, audio, images, animation, and streaming video, and

includes technology applications and processes such as audio or video

tape, satellite TV, CD-ROM, and computer-based learning, as well as

local intranet/extranet and web-based learning.

Information and communication sysytem, whether free-standing

or based on either local networks or the Internet in networked

learning, underlie many e-learning processes.

Page 9: Educational Technology

Theoretical perspectives and

scientific testing

influence instructional design. The

application of theories of human

behavior to educational technology

derives input from instructional

theory, learning theory, educational

psychology, media psychology and

human performance psychology.

Page 10: Educational Technology

Educational technology and e-learning can

occur in or out of the classroom. It can be self-

paced, asynchronous learning or may be instructor-

led, synchronous learning. It is suited to distance

learning and in conjunction with face-to-face

teaching, which is termed blended learning.

Educational technology is used by learners and

educators in homes, schools (both K-12 and higher

education), businesses, and other settings.

Page 11: Educational Technology

Richey defined

educational technology as "the

study and ethical practice of

facilitating learning and

improving performance by

creating, using and managing

appropriate technological

processes and resources".

Page 12: Educational Technology

The Association for Educational Communication and

Technology(AECT) denoted instructional technology as "the theory and

practice of design, development, utilization, management, and evaluation

of processes and resources for learning. "As such, educational technology

refers to all valid and reliable applied education sciences, such as

equipment, as well as processes and procedures that are derived

from scientific research, and in a given context may refer to theoretical,

algorithmic or heuristic processes: it does not necessarily imply physical

technology.

Theories

• Behaviorism

• Cognitivism

• Constructivism

Practices

• Asynchronous and

Synchronous

• Linear learning

• Collaborative Learning

Page 14: Educational Technology

• Behaviorism- the theory that human and animal behavior can be explained in terms of conditioning, without appeal to thoughts or feelings, and that psychological disorders are best treated by altering behavior patterns.• Cognitivism- is the study in psychology that focuses on mental

processes, including how people perceive, think, remember, learn, solve problems, and direct their attention to one stimulus rather than another. Psychologists working from a cognitivist perspective, then, seek to understand cognition.• Constructivism- based on observation and scientific study -- about

how people learn. It says that people construct their own understanding and knowledge of the world, through experiencing things and reflecting on those experiences.

Educational Technology for learning management systems (LMS), such as tools for student and curriculum management, and education management information systems (EMIS)

A learning management

system (LMS) is a software

application for the administration,

documentation, tracking, reporting and

delivery of electronic educational

technology (also called e-learning)

education courses or training programs.

Page 17: Educational Technology

Educational Technology itself as an educational subject; such courses may be called "Computer Studies" or "Information and Communication Technology (ICT)"

Information and communications technology (ICT) is often used as an extended

synonym or as an umbrella term for information technology (IT), but is a more specific

term (i.e. more broad in scope) that stresses the role of unified communications and the

integration of telecommunications (telephone lines and wireless signals), computers as

well as necessary enterprise software, middleware, storage, and audio-visual systems,

which enable users to access, store, transmit, and manipulate information.

Educational Technology 1

In my case, I haven’t encountered this subject, but our Teacher in

EDTC 2 gave me some insights about this subject. I have so many

important things that I have missed regards this subject. One of these

are the correct font size and font style in a power point presentation. I

have also understand the matching of colors for presentations.

Page 20: Educational Technology

They have also discussed, not only

about technology medias but also about

traditional visual aids, like the sizes of every

letter and the correct combination of colors

of paper and pictures that must be tallied

properly.

Though it’s just a brief discussion, I have

gained most important things with using

such technologies.

Page 21: Educational Technology

Educational Technology 2

This subject contains the different usage of social medias that is widely used to the whole world. It also gives me an insight about using technologies at school.

Sometimes, other teachers gives the privilege to the technologies, like the computer, just to teach their students. I’m not saying that it is wrong to use technologies, but let us just be reminded that student still needs us because when the time comes(we know that this time has come), students will rather choose to have their own technologies at school to be their Teacher. So, as early as now, let us be observant to what was happening inside our classroom and be wise in using such things.

The Student after EdTech

Page 23: Educational Technology

The student after Educational

Technology, for me, it is one of the most

alarming and most scariest thing that the

student might be in the future. I can’t

just imagine the future student who

wasn’t taught to write using pencil and a

pen. A student who doesn’t want to talk

with someone using mouth but rather

chat with them using tablets.

Page 24: Educational Technology

Maybe in the developing country, there would be no children you

could see outside their house to play with someone or something. At

some point the most ridiculous thing would be that the student don’t

know that they have a teacher that they can talk with or ask question

with, but rather choose to ask questions to a Google. And in this point,

they seem that Google is the most reliable than Teachers.
