Education is one of the principal measures in thecorrection of prisoners in China. In the correctionalinstitutions, u>eput much more stress on education of

    prisonersthan

    disciplineand

    control.The

aim ofeducation is to change prisoners' thinking, mendtheir ways, raise their literate ability, develop theirproductive skills, and finally change offenders whoare dangerous and destructive factors to the community into active and constructive factors. Actually, our correctional institutions are special schoolswhere offenders are educated.
