Trainee Animal Keeper Apprentice Amazon World Zoo Park

The successful candidate will assist in caring for a variety of exotic species. You will work to a high standard under the direction of the Head Keeper. Working with animals can be often very routine and can be physically demanding, working hours vary seasonally and this position will involve working a five day week including weekends and bank holidays. No prior zoo or animal husbandry experience for the post of apprentice is required as full in house training will be given, although candidates will be expected to demonstrate a keen interest in zoo animal husbandry. The successful candidate will also be expected to achieve an NVQ level 2 in zoo animal care during the course of their apprenticeship which is expected to last 12 months. Must be able to start job early February.
