Rooby Man Crowned Best Reggae Entertainer of the Year

CHICAGO, IL. January 15, 2012 – This year marked the 31st

Annual Chicago Music Awards coming down to Rooby

Man; Pop Reggae Artist and Legendary Reggae Artist Kenny Rox sharing a special moment; it seemed to be a

passing of the torches for the Best Reggae Entertainer of the Year. By the ceremony’s closing, Rooby Man

would covet the Award for Best Reggae Entertainer of the Year in 2011.

Rooby Man’s presentation at the 31st

Annual CMA’s expressed versatility, allowing the audience to feel every

rhythm and beat of the Pop Reggae vibe. Rooby Man dedicated the Best Reggae Entertainer of the Year Award to

his native land Haiti. Rooby Man humbly accepted his award, thanking family, friends and especially his team at

Street Fame Music Group. Erik “E Dub” Edwards, CEO of Street Fame states, “This is just the beginning and a first

of many celebrations of Rooby Man’s successful future,” while commenting on an accomplished night at the 31st

Annual CMA’s. This year’s ceremony was a dedication to Health Awareness and honored many throughout the

evening.

President of Martin International, Ephraim Martin began the awards presentation with a moment of silence

paying homage to Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. on his birthday. The Chicago Music Award 2012 Lifetime

Achievement Honorees included, Thomas “Tom Tom” Washington; Legendary Arranger / Producer, The Chicago

Recording Company, William Mason; General Director Emeritus, Lyric of Chicago, the Chicago Reader

Newspaper, Willie James McPhatter; Gospel Pianist & Organist, Michael Roman; Latin Jazz Society, Bruce

Thompson; Musician / Engineer, while Miki Howard graciously accepted the Award of Honor. All of the CMA

talent gave dynamic performances. Award Winners and Performers for the night were John Blu; R&B, Demi Lobo;

Pop Singer and WGCI Radio, Gueroloco; Reggaeton Artist, The Country Doctors; Country and Western, Bruce

Thompson; Alternative and Gospel artist, the Latin Experience Band; Latin Soul, Sugar Blue, Blues; Kenny Rox,

Reggae, Kidz in the Mix; Dance. Among the Chicago Emerging Star Contest winners was, an astonishing 10-year-

Rooby Man rocked more than 80 shows in 2011 globally. Writer and co-producer Rooby Man, has collaborated

with other artists and was a feature on VH1’s, “The Hungriest Rapper in Chicago.” Rooby Man’s 2011 performance

run included the Doumergue Stadium in Paris and several other cities while on a European Tour. Performing a

multitude of shows, opening for artists such as R. Kelly at the “12 Play Exclusive All White Affair” with Jive

Record’s artist John Blu, Miguel, Bobby V, Av ant, AK of Do or Die, Shawnna, Trina, Will of Day 26, Bonecrusher,

Crucial Conflict and many others. Rooby Man was also a nominee at the 3rd annual Midwest Rappers Ball.

dedicates this year’s ceremony to Health Awareness, while honoring artists and entertainers in the

Chicago land area. Nominated for the Best Reggae Entertainer of the Year Award , Rooby Man

(emerging pop/reggae artist) will deliver an unforgettable stage performance this evening, while gracing

the stage with music greats like Miki Howard. Ms. Howard is among a small group of accomplished
