I will share how the auto summarize feature, in MS Word, works with all my middle school teachers who need to adapt reading material for ESD students.
9
I will introduce my staff to my wiki at the September staff meeting.
8
I will ask very nicely if I can help our IT tech to add voice comment & word talk to MS Word 2007 in our computer lab. Then I will present it to my staff at a fall staff meeting.
7
I will add FireVox to my blind student’s SET BC laptop so he and I can learn how it works together.
6
I will take time to show our 5 valuable EAs my wiki and point out what is applicable to the students they work with.
5
I will try my very best to take more pictures during our spirit day events so that I can create an Animoto slideshow for each. Then I will be able to make a larger cumulative slideshow for the year end assembly.
4
My blind student and I will use VoiceThread to create a timeline of the school year, with my blind student narrating each page.
3
I will encourage all teachers to use Firefox as their main browser and to try the add ons with their students.
2
I will use Boardmaker everyday in everyway that I can. As a resource teacher, a second language teacher and a teacher of the blind, I am in awe at the infinite use for this powerful tool that will benefit so many students (& teachers).
1
I will continue to be enamored with Voki and Wordle. I will create a Voki to send to faraway friends on their birthday and I will print out Wordles in lieu of birthday cards for students and friends who live close.
My AHA moment (It’s a toss up between)
THE END
When I look back I think that this has been 5 days of intense learning but most importantly 5 days of FUN and I want to bring that FUN back to my school. I leave here feeling successful and I’d like to know that my students are going home each day feeling like a success as well.
“The road to success is always under construction.” Arnold Palmer
I leave here knowing I have much constructing still to do.
