Deregulation often results in a split of utilities along the value added chain. Those companies that need CRM functionalities most, are the Retail companies, because they deal with Marketing, Sales, Billing and Customer Service. The important message is that the industry as well as their CRM/CIS vendors are developing into a scenario where every utility will need a CRM system, the way they use ist however will depend on the role of that enterprise in the utility marketplace.Once the new CIC based on CRM 4.0 (shipment scheduled for Q1/2 2003) is available we will no longer offer the CCS with integrated CRM. Even as of today the CRM CIC has some advantages compared to the CCS-intergated CIC. See attached PPT!!Note that the 3 arrows between mySAP CRM and the CCS engines are technically represented by the middleware that owns all of the collaborative scenariosNote that although IDE is shown (and sold) as a CCS component its coding is actually spread all over the 3 other engines plus some master data transactions.
