What is edmodo?

• Edmodo provides a safe way to communicate with students and other faculty members outside the classroom using the internet.

Edmodo is set up very similar to that of Facebook, however,

as the instructor you have complete control over your group members’ blogging.

As a teacher…

• Edmodo provides me with a different approach to communicate with my students.

As a teacher…

• Edmodo allows me to receive assignments from students without depending on the school server.

• Edmodo allows me to control the blogging between students.

• Students are able to attach their assignments and send it directly to me.

• Students are able to save their work using their Edmodo account and work on it at home because it is internet based.

An Exmaple of Edmodo in a Langauge Arts Classroom

• While incorporating the writing process, students are able to draft their compositions and save it to a Word document. They attach the file and send it to me via Edmodo. I can make changes, highlight, and comment directly on their assignment and send it back to them.
