What is it????

EDM stands for Electric Dance Music. Most of EDM is computer generated sounds and beats emphasized by strong bass and percussive sounds. This type of music was originally created for dance environments such as night club and rave because the heavy bass and cyclic rhythms provoke a euphoric feeling of happiness.

Is it a type or gene?

There are a lot of music styles that are classified as “bassy”. That being said there are many different styles of music under the classification or gene of EDM. These may include but aren't limited to Trap, Dub Step, and House music. These all have very fast tempos around 130 to 155 BPM.

ExamplesAttached is a YouTube video of the world single most famous EDM musical festival. It is held in Europe and is a muti-day and multi-cultural event.

I personally enjoy EDM a lot. The strong base and lack of involved lyrics makes it a good

style to do homework to as well as party to. As an over all gene I cant find a reason not to like

it !
