At Saumur, when we talk about this event, we just said « the eventing ». This is a title which sounds perfect for us, because it summarise our ambition.

Editos

First, because it is a complete event, in which we are not only spectators, we live a real experience, of Grand Air, of Humanity in association with Nature rather than enslave it for human needs. You will live Verrie, this place so preserved and so fitted, so protected and so diversified. Then, because all of the activities than we propose are complete : sure there is horseriding, but mo-numental art too, running, concerts, innovation, local products, and animations for all ages. Sure, you will see one of the most beautiful and extraodinary competition of eventing in Europe.

And finally, because we are all here together to create a unforgettable party !

Grand Air exhibitionThe 3rd edition of GRAND AIR exhibition, propose to all nature and art lovers a 3km course across Verrie’s forest. You will discover tens works of art. Visits are free of guided, start will be at the information point.

Every year GRAND AIR exhibition could be realise thanks to partnership with students of l’Ecole supérieure d’art et de design de Tours et Angers and with l’Abbaye Royale de Fontevraud which welcome two artists for a creation residence.

International Eventing 3 tests > 3 days CCI1*/CIC2*/CCI3*The international eventing*** of Saumur is internationally recognised by the best eventing riders. Moreover, it constitute a grade qualification for WEG 2018 (world championship) in Tryon (USA) this summer. The test will take place on the racetrack of Verrie - Saumur (49) with a 160 hectare area, property of Ministère de la Jeunesse et des Sports, be made available of Comité Equestre de Saumur by l’IFCE-ENE.

The organizing comitee will know all the participations next 15th May. We already have 17 nations (Belgium, Switzerland, Spain, Italy, Norway, Japan, Thailand, Australia, Great Britain, Germany, Mauritius, Portugal, Sweden, New Zeland, France, Iran and India). All riders will be there for this inescapable deadline to prepare the world championships of Tryon. We already count on Christopher Burton (AUS) and Mark Todd (NZL). Competition will show to the public a real complicity in couples riders/horses of high level. Moreover, they will see one of the most spectacular esquestrian discipline, the cross country, which consist in jump natural obstacles in a 5km race in forest.

What better way than nature races to highlight this wonderful site, the racetrack of Verrie. It will permit to the Saumur’s residents discover or rediscover this preserved place. Races will show you monumentals works of art of GRAND AIR exhibition and some of the obstacles of Saumur Complet Cross ! 500 runners expected ! The slogan of Saumur Complet « vivons le Grand air » clearly show our ambition : propose to the public an entertaining and sharing experience, but with a strong link betwenn people and environnement.

Races track had been realise in partnership with the CAPS and particullary Louis Sxay which help us by technical tips. We want to thank you for all this. Races will be timed by France Chrono. They will be not competitive. Runners will know their times at finish.

When we create the HIT in 2016, Marine, Frédéric and I had an intuition : horses will be the future of the conciliation between Human and environnement. It is verify everyday.

HIT programm 2018 constitue the best proof. Technology wil be present, but still to serve the common property.

When we talk about collaborative breeding, hub services, interruption of veterinary cares or horses protection, we talk about new things created to improve more and more the relation between Humand and horses, more responsibe, more conscious and... more connected.

But, more importantly, HIT will highlight the incredible educative potential of horses, through the personnality of two women who created and found some incredible projects : Anne-Sylvie Bameule and Charlotte Rabouan. By exploring two different ways, one is the big educative project and the other one horseriding teaching, but with a common point, the ability to question human convictions. They trangress dogmas, because they stay open to all possibilities.

Horse hasn’t finish to help us learn about ourselves. Contrast to robots, we will never ask if equestrian intelligence will surpass human one. But, by understanding and control them, Human will live better in his environnement.

Come and meet us Thursday, 24th May 2018 at 14h30 on teh racetrack of Verrie, at Saumur to live an extraordinary edition of HIT, inspiring, smart but by keeping feet on the ground.
